I'm having problems with yahoo mail, is anyone else?

There's an image display setting for Yahoo mail accounts but there could also be something wrong with that day's email you got. There's no need to stomp your feet over it. To check the setting, click on the gear symbol in the upper right. Then Settings, then Security, then you'll see a dropdown giving you a few choices of whether or when to show email images. If it isn't something you do regularly or automatically, I think it's always a good practice to periodically clear your browser's cache. Settings, preferences, and other mischief can accumulate and cause unexpected behavior.

I just got that message too. At the bottom left there was a place to "skip for now" which I did and got into my mail. Pretty sure they can't/won't lock us out of email because of our lack of the right phones. Sandy

Or maybe you don't access your account as often and just missed the window of downtime. Its problems are way more often this last week than other times. It's acting up right now. Try the link I have farther up the thread, and you'll see how large a chunk of time it's been misbehaving today. It's a moving graph so it won't show you Monday, for instance. not right this moment for me, but it was earlier and it absolutely was on Monday. Or maybe I only hit it when it wasn't working. Either way, I think you're dismissing things you shouldn't dismiss. Yahoo is having trouble right now. It'd be nice if it worked every time one opened their mail. Which is what one would expect from a mail provider. I've been with them for a very long time. It's my only email provider outside of work. I won't change. But to say it's smooth sailing, what's wrong with you? just shows you're either A) lucky, B) don't access it as often as others, or C) are oblivious(?).

I never use my Yahoo account. I only use the email address when I need to sign up for something that I don't fully trust not to sell my address to spam mail servers. It really helps to keep my gmail and ISP email accounts fairly clear of spam. So the above 'solution' was found after a google search. Looking through my own yahoo page, I also do not see this option, so it must be outdated. And I can't seem to find another option anywhere else. That said, I only have two emails saved in my contacts list, so apparently Yahoo has not been automagically saving new contacts for me. I will keep looking to see if I can stumble across a solution for you. Edit: And here is something I have found. Mouseover the Cog on the right upper side. Click 'Settings'. Click 'Writing Email'. Uncheck 'Automatically add new recipients to Contacts'. This sounds like it only saves emails in your contacts list if you respond to someone, not if you read their emails, but it might be worth a shot. Also, on the off-chance you have a virus that is sending out emails (and thus adding the contacts), check your Sent Mail to see if there is anything there that you didn't send. It takes forever for the messages to load, when they do.

No problems here, unless you mean getting the same Spam mail about 25 times today. No biggie though since it is so easy to delete them all with a couple clicks.

I stayed with the old Yahoo when they changed.

I'm having the same problem as Sue. Had three spam posts, each of them 35 times each! SEcond day in a row.

I have never gotten that many Spam emails. I do get them, about 6 or so a day. Not 35 of the same ones though!

It's working in fits and farts for me now. Nothing consistent; very sporadic.

Try going to Google, typing in Yahoo, then click on the first entry--took me right to the Yahoo homepage, but I cannot get it to load at all by typing it into the address bar, the usual way

I have had Yahoo and Yahoo mail since the first day that Yahoo went on the internet and I have never had any problems with it.

I had a bit of a problem getting some sent a couple of days ago, they said to try again in an hour or so ...

... and I left the page sitting, opened another page and worked there for a few minutes, then tried again, and the message went fine, sometimes giving me some twisted letters and numbers to copy, to ensure that it's a warm body on my end.

They've blocked me a few times lately, saying that they've been wondering whether I've been sending spam, to please check my addressees (maybe too many?) but some were to only one or two.

Usually got them sent, eventually.
