I just noticed another thread asking about a backsplash. The first picture in this thread is similar to your layout, and it shows how someone took their backsplash up to the top of the counters and also continued their upper cabinet trip across the top of the backsplash. They don't have the open space above the cabinets that you have, but I think it should still be helpful in visualizing what it would look like in your kitchen. Thank you all! I told my contractor to do it. I think it would look too cut up to do otherwise. I am getting used to the granite. It looks different in chunks and flat than the whole slab in the yard. I can see where they seamed the granite, but I was looking for them. With all the movement in the granite it was hard to match exactly. I don't remember chosing certain spots that are prominant in the kitchen. Again, I think it will take some getting used to. Of course, the flooring guy decided not to work today since the granite guys were here. I wish everyone would just play nice. Neither would have been in each other's way. So now I am delayed two days with my flooring (flooring guy called in sick on Monday) and with all the furniture stacked up in the hallway, it is difficult to get to the bedroom and bathroom. Good thing I don't walk in my sleep or I would have a rude awakening by running into furniture. I am really starting to be ready to have this finished. Thanks again for your input. We had that silver backsplash from HD at our last house behind a 5 burner electric cooktop and never had a problem w/ it. Our largest burner was middle back and I used it frequently. Hope this helps!

Yeah --I was afraid lol but calmer now. Glad you told me that, I really was thinking someone else has access... I don't take things like that lightly, very serious when you consider this is a website where you can buy things.... You would still have to enter your purchasing info. Credit card and so on....really nothing to get that upset over when messages on a forum disappear.
