Trail runner... about your kitchen paint colour...

Trailrunner, in a couple of posts, you said that your paint colour is Olympic Paints' Thyme Green. I have been all over several paint websites and the colour that I see online is nothing like the gorgeous colour you have on your walls. What I see is something that is quite a dark taupe-grey with no green in it. Any idea why it would looks so completely different?

It is the right number on their website but doesn't look right on my monitor either. Go to Lowes and pick up the Olympic paint brochure...Colors of Nature. It is in there as are several others that I used. You will see it is a rich dark green. Hope this helps...can't rely on the monitors for color I guess. c

Thanks, Trailrunner. We don't have a Lowes where I live. I don't even know if Lowes exists in Canada. I was hoping to get the info on the colour and be able to match it at one of the local paint shops.
On my screen, your kitchen come across as a rich grey green with a touch of aqua in it. It truly is beautiful.

Thanks for the welcome and for the colour suggestions...I'm going to try them all...I love my view as well...we are lucky to live in the suburbs and have a forest in our backyard, saw 5 deer yesterday! As far as my 3 "accessories" :-) they are our 3 Newfoundland dogs..3 generations....Goldie, 11 is mother to Georgy Girl (black one in the middle) age 6 and she is Mom to Blossom age 3...so whatever colour I choose it will have to go well with dog hair and dog drool which is plentiful in our house!!! Thanks again for sharing your ideas...I'm off to the paint store for samples!! Hubby is downstairs getting the walls ready, so I'm going to have to pick something soon!

Rabbit trail -- Mirrors in the kitchen

Please excuse a bit of a side track on this rabbit trail! I am also planning for a mirror in my kit*chen. We are reproducing a mantle that is in the farmhouse that my grandfather grew up in -- it will be the mantle/hood over the cooktop. The original has a mirror in it. BM London Fog. It looks great against our white cabinets and our quartz is VERY close to your color from what I can tell. The London Fog matches the background tone of the quartz nicely and the white cabinets give it a fresh, clean, updated look. Not the best picture because our deck outside casts a pink tone to our wall, but you can see the quartz, wall color and white door in this pic to see how they work together. Here is a better picture of the wall color over by the ovens and up against the cabinetry. It looks darker here than it typically does in the light of day.

Thank you all! I guess painting is the easiest thing. I do like this new house. We sold our wonderful house by happenstance and my husband is thrilled. We live on Lake Ontario with amazing views of Toronto’s skyline but we are at the stage to downsize and got an offer we could not refuse. Luckily, we found this condo townhouse which is pristine, interesting and in a development of people our age - retirees. I will miss my beautiful home on the lake but it’s too much work for us now.

Dannie, The color is a deep olive. I have an extra Paint card I can mail it to you if you send your address. my email is gandr1212@aol.com. You can check with lowes online and order a sample can of paint or you can get the paint chips that fan out [I forget what they are called].

Oh I am sorry I didn't realize that you are CN. I would be glad to send you a swatch of the actual paint on a card...direct from my can...just email me through GW and I will get your address...would be glad to help...and thank you...I don't see it as an "olive"....we all have such a sensitive color sense. c
