Best way to Clean old grout

Hi everyone, just found this site and reviewed all 60 something pages! I've really enjoyed reading all the great information here. We are about to start our kitchen reno just after Christmas and are changing out the cabinets, backsplash and counters. We've decided to keep the tile floor for now due to cost. It's about 10 years old and the grout is horribly filthy. I've scrubbed it with a toothbrush and bleach 2 times during the 10 years and once again it's dirty. I've never sealed it but heard this is a good idea. Have a friend who paid $500 to have her grout professionally cleaned and sealed and she said it was dirty again after a few months. So, I was wondering what our best option is for getting the grout clean and keeping it that way. Thank you in advance for your suggestions...
