need to update country looking kitchen part two.
Comments (150)Mayflower, per the link you posted I was pleasantly surprised to read how inexpensively they did that beautiful counter. My goal here is not to break the bank as the market in this area not great and hopefully this redo will be the last and I like what I saw with the 24" square tiles and would surely last a long time. Can I assume that they could over my existing formica a sink could be undermounted if 24" porcelain or granite tiles are used I would love and undermounted sink and what material other than SS? Thanks for the idea and I will look for a source to check out the tiles. I still am working with that last color scheme with the valance and think I want a dark counter. Would that be easier to achieve with 24: granite tiles than porcelain?...See MoreNeed to update country looking kitchen -Part Three
Comments (76)Tinker, I really like how your new sink looks on the new counters. It works well with your appliances. The blue sink was a fun color, but the low profile of the new sink edges really takes a big step towards making the space feel updated, I think. I'm feeling like square tiles would be appropriate for my sixties kitchen, as I consider ideas, but since your house is around 100 years old, I think subway tiles would also be very appropriate for you (if you find something that steals your heart.) I know you'll find something beautiful. Sorry the floor tiles have been such a challenge, but it sounds like you are zeroing in on what you need, and that is progress (even if it doesn't feel like it!) Good to see the pictures of progress!...See MoreTake a look at my kitchen; it needs some updating
Comments (1)I would also go dark (maybe black with some gold in it) sorry no names. If not paint your cabs white and go with soapstone. You have a nice big kitchen!...See MoreCountry home finally getting an update but need help with colors!!!
Comments (7)Thank you! Any thoughts on a color for my front porch furniture? Keep everything (rocker, chairs, side table and swing) a natural wood tone or something lighter to brighten things up? I know that is probably a lot for the porch but out here in the country we actually use all of that furniture. We alternate between the front porch and the screened porch and wrap-around deck on the back of the house. We will be painting the front porch ceiling and the ceiling of the screened porch if I can come up with a color. If I paint the front door Hale Navy what would be a good ceiling color for the porches?...See MoreRelated Professionals
