virginia jet mist granite -pics, anyone?
Comments (28)Hi Kercove, The slabs of granite are from the Granite Depot in Westborough Ma. I worked with Paula. A wonderful place. They moved so many slabs until I found the ones I liked. She even held a bunch just in case I changed my mind. The installer is a company that has been in business for years. But I have not had them actually install yet. So I can not say how they do with seams or edges etc... I am really nervous after seeing all the terrible issues on our Garden web site. The actual install does not happen for another 10 days. However I love how they have worked with me so far. They have truly helped me in every way with the counters. I believe the father Brice has been doing this for years as everyone knows him. I have been working with the son Jesse. BFR and Associates I hope it is okay that I put their website on here. http://www.bfrandassociates.com/ They are located in Manchester NH but they do jobs in Maine, Canada, Mass, VT I have been searching for a long time. They are not the cheapest but they are not the most expensive either. They are a fair price for the job. I have also looked at Ripano but they were too high. I looked at Holbrook Granite they seemed nice but I had no recommendations about them. They do not even show their work on line. I liked BFR because I could actually go and see the countertops in person. BFR does commercial work. I also checked out Spencer Granite but thought they might be too far away from my actual home. I also visited the Boston Granite Exchange. I do not know if they install or just sell slabs. They have lovely slabs but the lighting is terrible in there so it is hard to see up close. I believe but do not know this for a fact that the Boston Granite Exchange prices their slabs higher than other places. I only heard this in passing from another customer. Not sure this is the truth or not. But in my case my installer found the stone cheaper at The Grantie Depot. Their lighting was much nicer to inspect slabs too. I hope this helps. I wish I could afford Christopher Peacock in Boston. I would have had them do my entire kitchen. :) Good luck. ~boxerpups...See MoreHas anyone heard of Antico Stella Notte granite?
Comments (11)Hey ladies! Thanks so much for your help! Neesie, I completely agree a rose is still a rose! My problem is that I am SO excited about this project that I want everything YESTERDAY!! Any picture etc. that is remotely close to what I am doing I want to get my hands on!! I am spending way too much time on the internet these days:) I love the VA Mist, blue kit. Right now, I am compiling all of these different countertop estimates from Level 1 granite up to Soapstone and VA Mist, Caesarstone etc. before I make any decisions. I am at the point right now where my project is "fluid". In addition to the remodel, we are bumping out our kitchen and family room 8 ft. So the new addition will be 8x42 ft. with the new kitchen being 21x21(see before pics and project pics if interested:) It seems like everyday there is some unforeseen expense that keeps chipping away at my granite budget!! Initially I wanted to do soapstone on the perimeter and buler's pantry with an African Mahogany butcher block top on the island........At this point I will be lucky if I can upgrade to laminate from plywood!! Fortunately, the only appliances I am replacing are my cooktop and refrigerator. It started when the excavator had to go deeper than originally thought to find the right soil for the footers. Then they found plumbing and wiring from the upstairs bathrooms in odd places, upstairs windows had to be moved to accomodate the roof and I am dealing with (and I knew this going in) trying to work a dropped beam with columns in the middle of my kitchen to support the upstairs bay window! Please tell me that it is completely normal to regret the decision to remodel!! Thanks for letting me vent!!! Comments (2)Thanks. I thought it was possibly emerald pearl, but the pics I saw of emerald pearl seemed to have more sparkly, larger specks....See MoreAnyone ever heard of 'B. Brown' granite (not Baltic Brown)?
Comments (11)Definitely not Tropic Brown. TB is a tighter pattern that this one. This one is kinda like uba tuba in pattern, but with black, brown, and gold. I have still yet to see it at another granite yard. Another one I like - Brown Pearl - I can only find that at one granite shop as well. I hate the thought of that bc then that particular granite yard has ya!...See Moreraehelen
