Finished White Kitchen
Comments (5)Just found this deep in the THS back catalog. Think a lot of other people would enjoy it, but the link was buried. Hope this helps. Here is a link that might be useful: Mark's wonderful kitchen...See More92% Finished White Kitchen
Comments (32)Below is a link to different edge options. Mitre edge is similar but very different from a straight square edge. In square they cut horizontally another piece and clue it together. Whereas with mitre they cut the marble diagonally at the corner. Mitre is more expensive but very worth it because they can match the marble veining so it looks like one thick piece. With the straight edge they will not be able to match the veining perfectly. Definitely ask your fabricator about this option. As to our windows, we had them custom made to match the existing windows in our 1926 house. There are two separate "lights" or pieces of glass in the top separated by a piece of wood. It is not one piece of glass with wood on top of the glass. The decision to have them custom made was because we wanted the new 2nd floor to be consistent with the existing bottom floor. They are all wood and will have to be painted and maintained on a regular basis, but DH is up for it. About the KA DW, I think it looks fine with the inset cabinets and as my DH is a plumber, he had no problems at all installing it. It works great and is very quiet. Posting these pictures and hearing the great feedback has inspired me to try to get those last little details done so I can post over on the Finished Kitchens. Thank you to everyone here over the years who helped me with the myriads of decisions that went into our kitchen. Comments (64)Noellabella, I click my car starter at my front door when I'm tired. At least it gives me a laugh at the end of the day! I wanted to tell you how fun and cheerful your kitchen looks. I've recently been bitten by the painting bug. Even to the point of taking my first day off for myself since I went to the dentist 8 months ago. I took an ASCP class and am excited. I've got over 150lf of cabinetry to paint, let alone some God-awful furniture that takes on new life after paint. Have fun with this and love it. Your kitchen is fabulous!...See MoreFinished White Kitchen -- need help with backsplash PLEASE!
Comments (32)I agree about the subways. They give such a simple sophisticated look without detracting from your granite and other design elements. I have a similar color schemed kitchen and DH and I went back and forth about our backsplash. Finally, decided to go with the matching subways (to our cream cabinets) and we LOVE them! Behind our range top we chose to set them vertically and we love how it gives it just a slight twist or custom feel. Anyways, I will post some pics of mine today or tomorrow to show you. Perhaps, you can show him pics of people with coordinating subways to change his mind. That's what I did!...See Moreabananie
