New question... like your pot filler faucets?
Comments (5)I'm trying to make that same decision myself. There have been other threads on the same subject. Argument for: Convenience and great look. No need to lift a heavy pot out of the sink and maybe scratch or chip a fire clay sink. Faster fill bec pot fillers suposedly produce more gpm (but not all, some were still 2.5 gpm). Neighbor has hers plumbed to the hot water line. ..(One GW'r said not to drink water from hot line, but another said it didn't matter bec they no longer use lead solder.) Argument against: Wouldn't really use it that much. Extra expense (rough plumbing and fixture cost, $300 - $1000 ?? More things to leak and go wrong. Do you match to shape and finish of main faucet? Just a few things to consider ... HTH...See MoreHow did you decide to WHERE to place your pot filler?
Comments (18)This is my first experience with a potfiller and didn't know if I would ever use it. I find I do use it for the pasta and canning pots as well as adding water to sauce pans. I use it more than I thought I might. When the plumber asked what height to stub out the pipe, the KD suggested 12" above counter height and centered. But I chose to put it at 14" to allow for the height of the cooktop grates plus the height of my tall pots, and it turned out to be centered vertically between the counter and vent hood. I also chose to put it centered over the left burners of the cooktop. I seem to use the left more often than the right side of the 5 burner cooktop, and it doesn't fully reach the front right burner, but that's ok with me. Another reason was aesthetics. I chose the Moen potfiller and when it is folded back against the wall, I preferred the look of it stubbed over the left vs being stubbed out centered, which when folded back, looked off balance to me. It seems everyone has their own preferences and reasons for placement. Like most things, it's whatever works for you!...See Morepot fillers and prep sinks..do you really use them?
Comments (16)We have a Prep Sink and use it all the time. In our old kitchen, it wasn't the 2-cook issue at the sink, it was the 1-cook + 1-cleanup person that caused the bottlenecks! That and it seemed the sink was full of dirty dishes every time I needed the sink! In my new/current kitchen, the prep sink is in the corner of the peninsula, is on the same counter run as the cooktop, and is next to the MW and refrigerator. This makes it ideal for prepping as well as accessing it from the DR. I use it for prep the majority of the time. No, there is no disposal on it and while I wish there were, it hasn't stopped me from using it! (The only time it's a pain is when I'm peeling a large # of potatoes...but then I just use the main sink for that task.) Our main/cleanup sink is across a 6.5' aisle opposite the cooktop. It's primary use is to collect dirty dishes & be used for cleanup in general. It can also be used as an extra sink during prepping & cooking if needed...and when I had sixteen 13-yo Girl Scouts cooking in my kitchen one evening it sure came in handy! One of the best things our new layout gave us was separate zones for prepping, cooking, and cleaning up. Without a prep sink it would not have worked nearly as well....See Moredo you love your pot filler?
Comments (1)I like it but my DH and kids LOVE it. I searched for a pot filler that would reach all 6 burners on a 48" range. Ours is mounted in the center. Pot fillers do have different length arms. I think I will grow to love it when I use it more and start cooking for bigger groups. I LOVE my tapmaster and 2 DW though....See MoreRelated Professionals
