Blanco Silgranit sink in white
Comments (10)I am embarrassed to say I did not open the box. I knew I did not want off-white because I figured it would look too yellow and dingy against the gray/white of the countertop. I should be going to see the counters today or tomorrow, along with the sink, at the fabricators. I will take pics and post. Why don't you want a darker color sink with that Cambria? I think it might visually blend better. Functionally, I prefer a lighter color sink (has SS last house) and I think if you like white better with the Cambria than the Biscuit, then just get it. I hear they all clean up beautifully. That's why I chose it......See Morehelp: blanco white silgranite sink arrived - looks gray?
Comments (3)About "really aren't looking so good together": a body can get used to anything except a pebble in your shoe. Within a few months I got used to the two tone sink/counter difference. I got an off white Silgranit. (Use powdered Ajax or Comet to keep it clean, not the Blanco product.) Later you will wonder why you cried at all. Some professional KD's have written in their articles that trying to match tones in a white or almost-white kitchen is impossible, so build it with only a few materials so that the color differences are visible everywhere and it suddenly looks intentional and planned. (A KD whose articles are on line is Sarah Richardson; she has done a lot of two hue light colored kitchens). Go with it and even try to make those two tones the ones you end up repeating whenever you have to change materials, like ceiling/wall/backsplash/counter/drawer front/kickplate/floor/sill....See MoreHow to clean a white blanco silgranit sink?
Comments (16)Thanks to everyone for the great advice! It's been 3 years and this is what we've found for stains For stubborn tea stains and pot scrapes we use a mixture of 1 part bicarbonate of soda and 1 part dishwashing liquid. We mix this into a thin paste. The paste is use to clean the sink with a soft dish cloth. This is an abrasive cleaner which will lift some of the stains. For really stubborn stains, pat the past onto the desired areas and squirt a light coating of vinegar so it fizzes just a little and leave it for 5-10 mins. Wash away and repeat again if needed. To clean the entire sink, if it has no serious stains, fill it to the top with a capful or two of bleach and leave for 30 mins. We tried the dishwashing tablets too, they work well, we just found it a little more expensive for routine maintenance and we had the kind with a plastic coating which just didn't want to dissolve unless you poured a boiling kettle onto it....See MoreMixing Kohler Whitehaven farmhouse main sink w/Blanco Silgranit prep?
Comments (10)I don’ have the Whitehaven but I do have the Kohler Riverby in white for my main sink and a Blanco Silgranit II in white for my island prep sink. Both are undermount and far enough from each other that I don’t the different materials and finishes make any difference aesthetically. I like them both and haven’t any problems with either. But the Silgranit has a matte finish and is not a pure, bright white - it has little gray specks in it. So be aware of that. Also, Blanco will send you a small sample of the material and Kohler might as well. Good luck!...See Moredavidro1
