CounterTop slab seams/termination?

We have a L-shape kitchen counter plus an island. The L-shape has a free-standing range on the long leg side approx. 13', and sink on the short side approx 7'. Both centered.
We wanted to use Luce di Luna for our countertop, but concerned where to put the seams. With the linear veins, if we put the seam at the corner wouldn't it look awkward when we turn around.
Would be nice if someone can post pictues of how they terminated slabs with linear veins and around corners.
Or should we just use the LdL on the island and use a different stone for the L-shape.

Sochi used that stone but didn't "turn" the corner. She has it running the long way down the long length of the counter and on the L it's running parallel so the L length has the veins running accross the short way. Make sense?

(Hope Sochi doesn't mind me mentioning her kitchen, which is beautiful, by the way... I've been a lurker for awhile and only just started posting.)

"L" tops in stone with a pronounced linear grain always create a challenge.

1 option is to cut the corner seam at a 45 and grain match as close as possible across the seam. sometimes this works great but it takes more stone to make the 45 degree seam.

2nd option is to put an appliance garage in the corner to mask the grain transition.

3rd option is a standard seam and just realize the best compromise is with the flow of the movement running parallel to the walls which necessitates an abrupt transition in the corner.

We did concrete for our kitchen and large island. We poured in place. Ours we left rustic because it fit our style but concrete can be finished in many different looks. The edge forms we used were the square edge but there were other options available. I love ours. We just got our CO today so haven't "used" them yet but they sealed very nicely and any liquid just beads up.

questionable fabricator of our soapstone counter tops

Florida Joshua installed our soapstone in May. We have a seam in our sink . . . . that you can't find. People have to search to find the 3 seams in our stone, because they are hard to see/feel. He used a black epoxy, it looks like your fabricator used white? And the bit about soapstone being porous and the water seeping in? Puhlease. False. Here's my sink. The seam is in the lower left hand side of the sink, about 3 inches in. Good luck trying to find it. This is freshly oiled. This is 3 months after install. We aren't oilers. As you can see, not having the stone oiled doesn't affect seeing the seam.

The island pattern match looks good. Most people would be very happy if they got a match up that good. Center of the island is as good as anywhere to seam it. With the variation in color of the stone, no one color for the seam adhesive is going to disappear. If the perimeter is going to be redone, the fabricators we work with will NOT under any circumstance put a seam near a sink or over an open area (such as dishwasher, undercounter ice maker or undercounter frig/wine cooler). Some fabricators will and swear that it's okay. I would work with them to find a way to seam in another location that is less noticeable and receives less daily use.

i wouldn't be too worried about seam strength, frankly. if it's in the corner, the cabinet edges will help support it, and similar would be true for the sink. i would think about what you would find noticable/irritating. myself, i'd want the seam in the corner. i'd find it less noticable there.
