Miele makes ovens in several different sizes. German, very high quality. Miele designs their appliances for a 20 year life-span. Good service readily available in or near major metropolitan centers. Alas, expensive....so perhaps not within your criteria. Many satisfied Miele users here on GW. I have a house full of Miele appliances and swear by them. The setup pictured below is actually two separate ovens with special trim to make it all look like a single unit. Top oven is a speed oven, but can be used as a conventional or convection oven. The lower, larger oven is either conventional or convection. Overall width is 23-7/16" (60 cm). Have you ever wondered what happens to defective merchandise when it's returned to the retailer? Some of the larger ticket items the individual manufacturer may direct the store to ship it to a warranty service center or perhaps back to the factory, but for many items the manufacturers feel that if they have to transportation to return the item, then pay someone to troubleshoot and repair it, in the end they will never recover the loss. In those instances they generally have a MFG rep go by the store to confirm the count and they give the retailer a wholesale credit for the item. Once thats done the MFG may instruct the retailer to just discard the item in which case most retailers just toss it in the dumpster and call it a day. Some retailers keep all that defective stuff on the side and a couple times a year they sell it off in bulk as defective merchandise. In turn, some people buy those items in the hopes that they can recover parts or perhaps scrap metal to make a profit. on the other hand, we are now finding unscrupulous ppl who buy that defective material then sell it on Ebay as if it was the real thing. Not long ago I got into a situation where the homeowner bought two high end faucett sets on Ebay. When they arrived the box was clearly marked "Defective Item" however the cover letter from the Ebay seller said they were including a rebuild kit in the transaction. This then prompted a long winded discussion between myself and the homeowner. If the homeowner buys an item that is defective, and supplies a rebuild kit to correct the original problem, am I as the installer supposed to take the time to perform the rebuild for the same price as I bid for the installation? I think not! To make matters even worse, the rebuild kit that was provided was the correct kit for one of the faucets but not the other one. Am I responsible for diagnosing the problem and going for parts for the same installation money? Here again, I think not. Can I be expected to extend the same level of warranty for obviously defective or rebuilt merchandise as i would for top quality first run items, here again, i think not. Now, in the event you do have to return the merchandise, what is your guarantee that the person you bought it from can even be located after the sale? In my experience, when we consider the shipping and handling costs and all the other problems we run into I have yet to find any true bargains on Ebay. on the other hand, if we as a nation, continue to do all our shopping on Ebay, what happens to the local retailers in our communities? Even now ppl in my community are being forced to drive 15 miles to a hardware store because the one we had in town was forced out of business by big box competitors and online shopping. How can we continue to complain to big business about outsourcing our jobs when we as individuals are doing the vary same thing via online shopping instead of supporting our local retailers.

there is a plant propogation book i have wherein the author describes his own mist system. that author has a large black coil of hose in the roof of his greenhouse so that water can be heated before reaching the mist nozzles. that's at least one vote for using warm water and keeping the cuttings reasonably warm as they root. just thought i would toss that in! lol. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted by: mosaic z8 LA (My Page) on Sun, May 11, 03 at 11:59 With such a setup you could probably root roses under mist all winter here in Louisiana. I just a couple of weeks ago ordered some irrigation supplies from them and received them quite quickly. About 4 days if I remember correctly. I also have the Melnor timer, and it does seem a bit confusing about its ability to do a mist cycle, but what you're doing is programing it to do one cycle (on in the am; off in the pm) and punching in a choice of watering pattern, in this case the off for 10" on for 2" pattern. I believe the idea behind the pattern was/is actually to help prevent water run-off when doing overhead watering by allowing the water to soak in between the on phases. I bought this particular timer though because when I looked at it my mind said "Ah! Mist!" (heh), even though the reason I bought it at the time was to keep a new patch of zoysia sod watered until it rooted in. My batteries did last all season last year, but it was only opening that valve 4x a day for 3 weeks, and then 1x every 4 days for a couple of months. I went out and bought all the supplies today. Total cost was about $15 (my husband had PVC and elbows left over from installing the sprinkler system). I would like to go to an intermittent system eventually, but for now I am going with continuous. The water bill is not an issue because we have an irrigation system (there is an annual fee but it is not based on usage). And even though I had a pressure regulator on there, I kept having a problem with the heads blowing off! (Their drippers work perfectly by the way so it's nothing against the company) I ordered foggers from Misty Mate this year and they put out a super fine fog. Perfect for propagation. They are a litte more expensive than the ones from Dripworks but worth it. And if you ask they will ship the misting heads for $1.50. I went to HD and bought a 10-24 tap and drill set (3.00) and drilled holes in my 1/2" cvpvc and the heads just screwed right in! I bought a Melnor timer at HD for $39 and it has 1 minute spray options so I've got it set for 1 minute every 10 minutes. Can't remember the model number but it's not the one on the HD website. I hope to finish my new propagation box soon. I built one on a stand this year so I can move it around easily. Wouldn't you know, HD has plastic sheeting made just for greenhouses that I used! It's not the real thick heavy stuff either. It's only 4mil and is crystal clear see-thru! Hopefully I'll be finished this week!
