I did some doodles for you. I leaned towards warm colors for two reasons: they would blend well with what you describe in adjoining rooms and they work a bit better with your warm toned cabinets. I tried some "cool" colors, and they just didn't mesh well. (I did a 'cool' gray and a terracotta so that you could see that the undertones were too cool, as in the gray, or the color fought the cabinets, as in the terracotta.) Not trying to steer you in any particular direction, but I've created an album of various colors/depths that seemed to fit the bill (and some that didn't ;) Some posted here, there are 2 pages of colors at the album I linked to below ;) Oh, almost forgot, left your crown molding white and painted the ceiling same color as walls so your crown molding wouldn't disappear. What some people do, rather than put the "full" wall color on the ceiling, is have the wall color mixed at 50 or 25% and use that reduction for the ceiling. That way there's a lighter version of the same color on the ceiling, blends well. An option if full wall color on the ceiling doesn't suit your taste ;) A golden tan A bit lighter version A very deep golden tan/acorn (historical type color) A lighter green with yellow undertones An apple green A richer apple green A mid level moss green An earthier moss A warm mocha If there are any other shades you'd like to see, give me a holler ;) I went through so many colors, these are the ones that came out the better. ladyshadowwalker - your light came out great! It looks like a factory finish. The Possini light I like does come in either chrome (which would match the chandelier ceiling canopy) or brushed nickel (which would look pretty close to the brushed stainless handles and appliances.) I also wonder if I would better off just trying to find a light with almost no metal at all - I will post some in another posting. mydreamhome, I hear what you are saying - thanks for the link to the bathroom forum discussion and for the compliment on the tile and chandelier. I liked Mongoct's bath photo - I can see how the ORB he used up top also reflects the floor color. I am a bit sensitive to different finishes, though, and the brushed nickel pulls with the polished nickel faucet would bother me (it doesn't look bad at all in that bathroom, I just would personally not get used to it so quickly.) But I definitely think that especially as most people will not be thinking about this when they see the kitchen, they'll be just taking it in as a whole, that I am probably the only person who gives a darn. :-) Going to post some options in a minute!

I've had my sink now for 5 years. I love it and so does everyone else who comes into my kitchen. It's upmounted so it's a bit high (no bending) and also pulled forward so I get right up against it. It cleans beautifully with barkeepers and drains well. I have a sprayer and feel one is needed (in whatever form) for this sink. Hand swishing doesn't cut it. I only have 1 tiny ding on the bottom but it's my fault as I just got a sink grid. That has been fabulous (I thought I'd hate it) as it keeps things off the bottom. Even with the full rim exposed (because of the upmount) not a mark on there. We have an apartment with 1 y.o. a stainless sink undermounted in marble. It's also 30" single bowl -- same size as the Shaw's. We alady have 2 dings on the inside of the front rim of the marble where DH hit a pot. Stainless is great. Mine happens to be a few inches deeper than the farm but I don't think quite as comfortable. If I could have afforded to replace my sink cabinet (we just painted) I would have gone with a farm sink again. But our sink base wouldn't work with one. I've been on this board a long time can't remember anyone who didn't like their farm sink. Offhand don't recall anyone who ever switched one out. Heard very few chip stories, perhaps one cracked sink in all these years. Durability doesn't seem to be much of an issue as the Shaw's are made to last. Hard to think of any other kitchen feature as heavily used and so positively. Perhaps other owners will respond but I've always found it to be a ditto-fest when they do.

Hi Everyone! Well my kitchen is done! And we went with BM White Dove! I love it! I pulled away from the darker creams and I’m glad I did. White Dove is still warm but I think it has a fresh, modern feel. In certain northern light it can read blue-gray but I actually love that - even though that’s what I feared. My art pops on it and everything feels more crisp. Surprisingly, I don’t miss the yellow-gold at all. I do have to tell you about a crazy moment: I first chose SW Creamy. The painter put one coat on and I freaked out. It read light country yellow! I HATED it! Luckily, my painter was very gracious about running to the store and buying new paint. He had recommended White Dove all along and he was right. Now I’m working on swapping out the lights for something more contemporary. Amazing how a coat of paint can change the whole feel!
