Basically you don't spray while the trees are in bloom and the bees are around. You can spray up until the buds get pink tips, then again just after petal fall. Really depends what you are spraying for as to when and how frequently. I have apple scab issues, so I'm best to spray with a fungicide when the leaves first show, maybe again just before bloom (pink tip), then again after petal drop, maybe again 10 days after that. Technically I should probably continue spraying every 10-14 days into August, but with scab it is the initial spring infection that can destroy a crop, secondary infections once summer has set in cause very little problem so you really only need to spray for that if you want all of your apples to be perfect. Apple maggot or other insects are a different matter. I've never had problems with those so don't spray for them and can't really offer any advice there.

Thanks for the advice! I will then be spraying. This is my second round with roses. Before I lived in an apt with a rose bed, and last year I inherited 28 roses when we bought our place, so have not been in place to select disease resistance up front. The ones I have been able to identify aren't described as being prone to diseases (they are almost all David Austin) - but they weren't well cared for for several years.

It would help to know know the materials rather than the contractor claims. If one is closed cell foam and the other is open cell foam the difference in cost should be considerable.

A spray at a prep sink is a must!! As others have said, the spray function is so useful at any sink, especially a prep sink...no matter what size the sink, too! Not only is it useful for rinsing the sink and food, but it's also very useful for filling pots, measuring cups, etc. on the counter next to the sink. I put a pullout faucet on my prep sink and a pull down at the main sink. First, I like having one of each as they both have pros & cons...and the cons of one are made up for in the pros of the other. To me, it's the best of both worlds. I like the pullout at my prep sink since I fill more pots, etc. on the counter next to it than I do inside the sink or at the main/cleanup sink. Second, my prep sink is rather small (15-3/4" square) and I was afraid the pull downs would overwhelm it. Function over Form in this case is very important if you plan to use the sink! Good luck!
