Comments (6)Thanks, Eleena! Good to see you too. :) Start with the front. I forget your project, if I knew: Do you have a cabinet maker? He can make the whole thing for you. If you're buying from a big company that doesn't have the right sized front and won't make it, you can buy the smallest one they have, and cut it down (or have a handyman or someone do it). You'll need touch up paint/stain. Don't do it yourself if it's MDF, you really need professional equipment to make the veneers adhere correctly. You can always do a bit of contrast. Maybe paint with chalkboard paint, or something equally kicky. Anyway, then you need to make the trays. You can get prefinished, thin plywood. They're just boxes that are attached to front and back uprights, then to the front panel. Use drawer rails to operate....See MoreRev-A-Shelf Swing Out Pantry Kit?
Comments (4)We had one of these swing-out pantries built for a remodel a few years back and although it was a novelty, I wouldn't do it again. You end up 2 ft inside your cabinets, rummaging around for stuff you know is in there while hanging onto the frame to keep from falling forward. Trying to clean up spills and dust in the cabinet is also challenging with the dim light, since your body shades the opening. If you have the option of getting pull-out shelves, please go that route! At least you can get everything in easy reach and see what you're after....See MoreRev a Shelf vs Hafele cabinet Inserts? Liners?
Comments (8)Rococogurl, what specific inserts are you talking about - and why would they have to be lined? I have a Hafele condiment pull-out, and had a smaller version of the same thing in my previous home, that I love, and one of the things I like best about it is that the flat surfaces are so easily cleanable - they're not wood, which I consider a good thing for the flat portion of shelves that will have oils, spices and food on them....See MoreGracie
