OK. Other than Norfolk, I went to Boston Kitchens (they carry Wellborn, Ultracraft and a few others) - locations are Middleton, Wilmington (and some others that don't come to mind). Price wise they were 2nd cheapest. I went to Jackson Lumber in Lawrence (they carry Wood-Mode & Brookhaven). Finally, I checked out Mede Kitchen & Bath - they are in Danvers now (formerly in North Reading) - they carried the Omega lines (Dynasty/Embassy & Custom). Of the places, Mede was the most expensive. I have heard nice things about Moynihan lumber (several locations) but didn't go there personally. If you have a complete kitchen design that you like that will probably save you some time as they'll be able to quote more quickly using your existing layout.

Are you looking for custom? I ordered my cabinets from Euroline Kitchens. They have a showroom in Brookine, but the factory is in NJ. There is also Dedham Cabinet in Dedham. I've heard good things about them but never got to them as I was too far into the process with the other company. Good luck.

Ha, I'm pretty sure the Kitchen Company are the people who did our kitchen remodel when I was a kid (20+ years ago!) My parents used Crystal's semi-custom line for their more recent CT remodel, though---they discovered that ordering through a local lumber store was far less costly than ordering through a kitchen design shop. I don't know what the overall cost was, though, so Crystal might still be out of range for your budget (was way out of ours!) I can ask which store it was if it would be helpful, though. May have been Ring's End.

Are you looking for someone to help you make purchases and/or hook you up with specific vendors? Someone to make recommendations that are pure aesthetic design? Someone to recommend re-configurations? A "project manager"? I ask because we just finished a "refresh" (I posted a reveal thread), and we basically hired a contactor to actually do the work, but we made all of the aesthetic decisions and orders ourselves. I probably would have wanted a dedicated KD if we had gutted the whole kitchen, but since we were just refreshing, I wasn't sure what their real role would be.
