Backsplash Blank Slate *PICS*

Things are a mess. So much more to do! This is day 39 of our kitchen remodel. Don't judge yet! New backsplash cement board, tile, paint, cabinets, appliances, and now:

The granite fairy came today. Very pleased with the Bianco Antico, but when our backsplash sample was put on top, the one we were *ABSOLUTELY SURE* about, we realized that it matched too well (the stone mosaic below). We do like some contrast and this really lost the pizazz when the granite went down.

So, what would you guys suggest? We are watching the budget. It was supposed to be a $5k kitchen (all DIY), but at the last minute we took back the laminate counters and got the granite. So, we're probably at $7k +/- now and I would like to keep the backsplash under $10 sq ft. if possible. Most of the nice glass options are $15 sq ft. and up.

What would you guys suggest? We are good with subway tile, but it can be a little tame. Maybe with a light silver grout? Or laid vertically? Or a plain white mosaic? Argh....
