New Samsung FL W&D - Bedding W&D Issue
Comments (21)My Asko dryer used to do this. I faulted it's "butterfly" dryer design. The dryer paddles alternated - one row was toward the back of the dryer, the next toward the front, etc. This is supposed to help kick the dryer contents back and forth to avoid a constant rolling action that would ball up sheets. Unfortunately, it didn't work at all. There was no solution except to get a bigger dryer. I don't have this issue with my Miele W4842, but I also dry king size sheets and duvets individually in order to avoid wrinkles and creasing. A reversing dryer is also very effective at preventing items from balling-up. Miele, Electrolux and perhaps others have a reversing tumble....See MoreWhat to do about toe kick under dishwasher
Comments (18)If you can remove it, get a can of Rustoleum and spray paint it white. You al;so have the option of using a piece of the wood toekick that matches all the rest of the white trim. If it doesn't come off, I'd get a piece of thin facing -- I wish I could think of what to call it, but I've seen it at Home depot sold in sheets. Some even comes already white. All you'd need to do is have it cut to size and stick on some velcro. The stuff is no more than 1/8 inch thick, so it's not going to stick out. You could also have a piece of metal cut to that size, paint it and stick it up the same way (or with magnets). It's really a very simple fix....See MoreQuestions about integrated d/w toekick
Comments (18)Option One..spacers in back of other toekick trim pcs so it flushes with DW toekick pc. Are you only adding a 1/4" panel to the DW front..seems like it it could warp..or is it a miele metal trim pc? Option two..DW brackets move farther back enough to have a flush toekick pc. Option three...remove the DW brackets so you have more clearance. Looks like you have some space at both sides of the DW at the toekick to still get the DW out. If so you can add narrow nailer blocks to each side and pin nail a trim pc in fron to the DW which should be easy to remove later. You may even be able to cut back each existing toe kick trim pc on each side of the DW so the DW trim pc overlaps and flushes with the side pcs. then just screw in place to the plywood platform you have pictured. Make sense?...See MoreToe kick heater?
Comments (9)I have two Turbonics 6/8 Toesters in my kitchen tied to my hydronic heating system. They are sufficient to heat the entire kitchen and former LR space, albeit slowly if one demands a large change in temperature. I know this because pending the last coat of floor finish, the LR is still missing its baseboard heaters. This heating performance is in spite of the Toesters being operated at lower than low speed. Fan speed is deliberately turned down because I found that the fans would start "breathing" when the access panels in the floors of the cabinets were closed. (Turned down means using a motor controller in series with them and wiring them for low speed.) Although the 4-inch kick space meets the requirements of the heaters' drawings, I suspect that there is too much restriction above the fan for the fan to operate stably. I didn't care for the sound, even though it was subtle. Smaller units may not have this issue with this height. kas A motor controller or fan controller is like a lamp-dimming wall switch, except a CW action lowers the fan power rather than increasing it as in a lamp dimmer. They are also tolerant of inductive loads. Most electrical distributors should carry them....See Moresjay
