Corian: Rain Cloud--anyone have pics?

In my endless search for countertops I have come across a chip of corian rain cloud and really like it...wondering what it would look like in a "real" kitchen and not the promotional pics on the corian website...thanks!

I'll have pics sometime next month -- that's what we ordered! The closest thing I could find to a real kitchen photo is this one (it's the perimeter countertop):

I saw this post & wondered if anyone has any other pics of the Corain Rain Cloud...I love the look of marble but saw the Cesarstone Misty Carrera & it is too gray. The Corian lookls like a good option.

Thanks, everyone. Still not sure why not ALL the pics are showing up, but too tired to figure it out tonight. dianalo, that's actually not a Domsjo. The Domsjo is a really nice sink, but I didn't like that it sat above the counter, so we paid the extra for a Belle Foret undermount farm sink. It was pricier and necessitated modifying the base cabinet and therefore doing a curtain underneath the sink instead of doors, but I'm really happy with it. I think I like the curtain better than I would have liked the doors. As for the tin backsplash ... it's a temporary fix. I like it a lot, and may yet decide to keep it, but the plan has always been to do white subway tile 2/3 of the way up the wall (basically to the height of the range hood). But for now, it's really functional, easy to clean, and gives a little visual interest to what might otherwise be a pretty boring little kitchen. And since it's a kitchen in a 1921 house, the tin "feels" right in the same way that the subway tile will "feel" right when we get around to doing it. It was only $200 and maybe an hour of work to do. I'll try to take some better pics that encompass more of the kitchen tomorrow. There's a "hutch" on the opposite wall that wasn't included in these pics. Thanks for looking! I hope it helps. If you want pics of anything else, let me know. When we started this, NO ONE had pics of Corian Rain Cloud, so I know how scary it can be to second guess yourself and wonder if you made the right call.

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for your input. @ aloha - I agree with you 100% on Glacier White for a more modern kitchen. Since I'm going for a more traditional look, I am afraid of a potential mistep by using white. @ happylady and writersblock - I got a quote for rain cloud at lowes, but the price difference was pretty minimal (less than $100), so I'll probably go with the local design studio if I choose rain cloud. I didn't get a quote on the other brands, but they were all pretty close in price to the corian. Since our kitchen is only 24 sq ft of counters, a few dollars per sq ft doesn't make a big impact. @pricklypearcactus - thanks for your input about the sinks. I am not wild about integrated, but didn't know what everyone else thinks. @ idrive - Do you have any pictures of your counters with undermount ss? I'm trying to figure out how to post pictures. Hopefully I can get a few pictures tonight when I get home. Maybe if you see the current space, you may have additional thoughts.

designsaavy...no problem about the hijack...it's still about the Corian. I purchased my counters from Home Depot. There was a local fabricator I really wanted to use but HD had a sale that was too good to turn down. As luck would have it, HD contracted their fabricating and installs to that same fabricator so I got the best of both worlds. When I purchased mine, I took the layout, with exact measurements to Home Depot and you purchase the approximate square footage based on your layout. If that number ends up being a little more or less, they adjust before installation. Ours was pretty much dead on. Also, we actually purchased/contracted for our counters several months before they were installed. It was no problem at all...the fabricator just said call when you're ready for templating.

Thanks Joseph and DCward. Like to see how the tiling is above the corian. I have a similar backsplash situation behind the sink to the last photo, except, it will have to be built out about 3-4 inches for the electrical outlets, but under a sill. It is a brick wall. Not sure what they will come up with. DCward, do you still like your corian, witch hazel isn't it? I had no idea having a cove was so expensive! I go talk to someone tomorrow. Didn't mean to usurp your thread JWS. As to your question, I don't think I would put two marble like materials together either, particularly of such different "feel".

I had considered the Corian Rain Cloud as a countertop and even ordered a cutting board made out of it, so I could see a larger sample. I ended up not loving it, but I still have the cutting board. You can email me at astridholbergATcomcastDOTnet (using the symbols @ and . in the right places) if you would like me to send it to you. I would do it for the cost of shipping. It really helps to see a larger piece. Another thing to recommend: I went to a local corian fabricator and they had scraps left over from previous jobs. You might try that.

Do also lookup Silestone's brand new color Bianco River. It's white with light grey. Very pretty, I ordered a sample and I was very very happy with it, doesn't look too shiny either which I love. Not a lot of places have it right now but it's out there and can be ordered which is what Silestone told me. If you can not find a sample, call Silestone directly and have them mail you a free one.
