$49.99 a good price for quartz countertop?
Comments (8)We have the lg in silver lake. We bought it last year for the same price. But, got a free sink/install. I purchased my own sink and asked if I could still get the sink they provided (to give to a friend remodeling). It ended up being okay, but the installer didn't want to do it. They wanted the money for the install since they have so many sinks or something to that effect. Lowes made it right and sent me a gc for my problems. Even more important, the installer didn't put the sink in the middle of my window. It was off center. Originally, I wanted it pulled out and redone. At first, the installer wouldn't do it. I consulted gw and they told me that it wasn't really that important. (and, it really isn't.) So, I went back and asked if they could get me more money off. Lowes got the installer to send me a check for 500. The installer offered me 200 initially. That being said. I have been extremely pleased with the lowes final installation or whatever department. They were all over the problems I had and I would highly recommend them. The installer, though one of the largest ones in this area, wasn't responsive or even helpful. My parents also got the same deal and had installation problems. Lowes made it right again. I do like our countertops. Everyone thinks that they are the more expensive brands. We only have 45 sq or so. I paid 2200 total after discounts. (Not including the sink I wanted that I got from galaxy tool supply and including the 500 back.) I've been very happy. And, I think we got a great deal. They quoted me 1800 (I believe) for corian or corian like stuff. Now, we do have some nicks in the surface now. I don't know if that is the nature of the product or what. My mom has had them come back to fill in the nicks. But, I haven't. I don't really plan on it either. Just an fyi. Also, I went to several granite yards and those dealing in quartz. None could touch the price I paid for at lowes. Even HD was higher. The cheapest granite (just NVG was 65 sf.) Your area might be different, though. We live in NE indiana, not quite the mecca for design. Also, I've heard of some that have been able to swing the 10% off coupon for moving at lowes. Or, the 10% for military But, we couldn't. You might try. Good luck! Kim...See Morequartz or granite countertop & best color for cherry cabinets w/b

There's also a Grecian Bronze (similar to ORB, I think). The DR chandelier isn't very big b/c our DR is small. They do have larger chandeliers, if you're interested in those as well. P1095AP - 1-Light Morningside F2050/5AP - 5-Light Morningside Our faucet is the Kohler Vinnata® Kitchen Sink Faucet (K-690) in Vibrant Brushed Nickel with the handle on the right. The handle location is adjustable: it can be on the left, right, or middle...it's up to you. The nice thing about being adjustable is that if you don't have enough room behind the faucet for the handle to work properly, you just mount it in the front. We bought it at FaucetDirect.com. There are 8 finishes and it comes in 2 sizes (main sink, the one we have, and prep version (K-691), which is a couple of inches smaller). We love our location as well! Actually, we're on a 3-acre lot w/a street on the other side of the berm in the back then a horse farm/farm under agricultural preservation. We do have neighbors...across the street from the front yard and on either side of us...you just can't see them from our back windows! Plus, we planted a double row of evergreens on one side to block the NW wind that also blocks our view of that house (to the right). Our neighbors on the other side planted a row of pear trees so we didn't feel we could plant evergreens there. But, they're farther away so it's not a big deal...plus we have nice neighbors! Looking at the pictures again, I just realized that those are the pics taken before I cleaned the granite! So, it still has the granite dust on them from the work they did when installing the sink side. (The other side is not done yet, the granite is just placed on the counters, not aligned or secured. We're waiting for a replacement for the cabinet they damaged when they began the install on that wall.) Good luck on your choices & welcome!...See MoreQuartz Countertop damaged during install should I pay full price?
Comments (22)OK, NEW PROBLEM. I don't know why I did not mention this before. Every time we touch the countertops the oil from our hands turns the countertop dark and it will not go away with just soap and water. It will only go away with "Rejuvenate" Kitchen & Bath Countertop Polish. My husband talked to 3 different people at HomeDepot who said that there is something very wrong with the Silestone product if it does that! It must have happened at the factory & was sold as "Seconds". They said the contractor must have purchased the product knowing this & should have told us before selling it to us!!! Some people don't mind this and will purchase it anyway, but must be informed in advance. Have any of you ever heard of this or had experince with this before? I am so frustrated, I don't know what to do. They are installing the backsplash as I type this. It looks OK so far. Wish me luck with it....See Morewhat is the best cleaner and polisher for man-made quartz countertops?
