Comments (37)Your room looks so inviting! Love the new furniture. When we had our "fur babies" they would rub their faces along the length of our couch and wing back chair...(and here I thought it was just our lab & golden that had that habit)...See MoreOT: Deck Design ..... please help !!
Comments (2)Hmmmm, I don't know. I am sure if the bench is close enough to the tub, that I will step onto the bench and then up and into the tub rather than hopping up onto the edge of the tub to get in. That is why I am saying the bench will double as steps. I have made it a little easier to use the bench as a step by putting one step in front of the bench (which can also be used as a foot rest?). You can just slightly see it in the upper right 3D image to the right of the hot tub on the first 2 deck ideas....See Moreneed help with kitchen plans, want to expand into dining room
Comments (8)gooster: thank you so much for taking an interest in my kitchen. i saw my GC today and asked about this. the problem is i live in earthquake country and the wall is not only load bearing, it's what's known as a shear wall. as i understand it, shear walls stop the house from doing the hoola hoop dance, which usually leads to an "all fall down" during an earthquake. My GC explained in detail what sort of reinforcement would have to be done to make up for the loss of the shear wall. there would be so much vertical support needed, going down thru the garage and deep into the ground, that i'd loose the use of my garage (under the kitchen) and have so many columns it'd look like ancient Rome. that being said, i love the idea of switching it around. i've also wanted to explore the status of that wall separating the ex-dining room from the laundry area. ooh, maybe i can move the laundry area to the original kitchen... thanks for thinking outside the box. it's just what i need. & we have sunshine for the 1st time in a week. Everyone has been so helpful. everything is great today. have a great day....See MoreFather-In-Law's New Dining Room Floor
Comments (11)Sometimes they just can't help it. The owner of our place was very ill but not ill enough for long term care and home health workers wouldn't come in because of the living conditions. She hired people to clean but you can't clean that out of building materials so the problem grew and grew. Even if she had gotten rid of her only companions (animals) the damage was done. She was nearing the end of her life and at that point, it seemed futile to her to do anything. Sounds like Joseph's peeps have no excuse though....See Moresombreuil_mongrel
