Have any of you put a Blanco granite sink in your kitchen?
If you have, do you like it? And do you have any pictures?

Here's a picture of mine in Truffle. You'll find lots of praise for Silgranite sinks on Gardenweb. I absolutely love my sink. Best purchase I made.

Composite granite sinks

I have had an Astracast [composite] white sink for 10 years. The side with the disposer looks a little rough (when it has not been recently cleaned) because I did not read the manual that said to NOT use abrasive cleaners on it, and I used to Soft Scrub the dickens out of it. I also bleached it as the stains would set in because I dulled the polished bottom with my reckless scrubbing. I don't know what material it was made of (in 1999), but they are now made of a granite composite. I loved my sink because it had these grayish flecks in it that went so well with my new (at the time) laminate counters. The side with the strainer basket still looks white and nice. I did not abuse that side as much. There has been hair coloring in that sink and we have poured boiling water down the drain--without running cold water, we have washed paint brushes repeatedly, and poured untold amounts of chemicals down the drain. The drain (which was a plasticky white--what did I know?) has cracked, but the sink has not. One thing it does do, though, is show black marks from pans. That is why I used Soft Scrub on it so much. Those black marks drove me nuts. My hubby did manage to drop a sharp knife on it *just right* and it it made a little chip, which he covered with some sort of epoxy. Because of the pattern on the sink, you can hardly see his little fix. Unfortunately, he did that when the sink was fairly new, so I was plenty *shall we say* irritated with him! I am going with another composite sink in our remodel. An apron-front single bowl quartz sink. I am now aware of what NOT to do in one of those sinks, and the first thing I did was purchase one of those sink grids.

Have a Blanco granite sink in anthracite and love it. Has only been in a couple of weeks but so far it is great. Easy to clean and quiet when banging things around. Kitchen is cherry bordeaux cabs with a black glaze. Have ss appliances and ss hardware and faucet. Granite counters are creme bordeaux which has reds and some hints of black. Sorry I don't have any current pictures since it is still a work in progress.

Skipper - a lot of GWbers have the Silgranit sinks and love them.
Mine is 18+ months old and looks brand new. I tried to stain it with blueberries - or should I say my DH did this accidentally. I was in a twit - but followed the directions and the stains disappeared.
The only down side - don't drop a 10 lb pan into the sink - it could crack but so could porcelain and SS would majorly dent.

Costco has a Blanco Diamond Silgrant II 1-3/4 bowl sink on sale for $320. I think the colors are limited to Anthracite and Cafe Brown.

Love ours too. It's in biscuit. This picture was before the drains were installed.

It's very easy to clean. I just use Dawn. Our kitchen was completed in early June so just little over 5 mos. No complaints whatsoever.

side question on the silgranit sinks:

if I want a 30" sink as measured by the interior (so 30" usable space) what size sink do I want? 30? or 33?

I'm looking at the single bowl corner drain undermount.

I have a Silgranite 33' center drain single bowl sink in anthracite that I put in during my kitchen renovation two years ago. I absolutely love it!! The look, the ease of care, the functionality, you name it! I picked it out online from Blanco after much review.

I love my Silgranite sink! This is after nine months of good hard use and very little cleaning... and yes, 30" is the inside dimension.

I have a large single bowl undermount (not sure of dimensions, not home to measure) in Cafe Brown and LOVE it. Favorite sink ever. I've had it 17 months and not a single issue - my sister loved it so much, she got a drop in version for her house.

I put the white Blanco 2/3 1/3 sink in three years ago. I must admit, about a year ago I was at my wits end about getting it completely white! Blanco recommends Bar Keepers Friend as a cleaner, but little pits form in the sink and it was difficult to get it all white, even when BKF was left in the sink overnight. DUH, I finally swished a little full strength bleach in the sink and VOILA! PERFECTLY clean and looked brand new! NOW I would buy again. A year ago, I would not have.

We put in a Blanco granite siligrant sink in a biscuit color.
Love it.
