Hairline cracks in Kohler cast iron kitchen sink
Comments (71)I noticed a crack in the front corner of our (less than) 6 month Kohler Whitehaven sink. Immediately a pit in my stomach! This sink was installed on 11/14/22. We spent a pretty penny remodeling our very dated kitchen and are thrilled with how it looks. We contacted Kohler whowhichwhowhowhichwho said they will replace sink. We are waiting to talk to someone about cost associated with reinstalling a new sink to replace a defective sink. Ours is undermount and don't feel as though we should be on the hook for this expense. Anxious to hear back from Kohler. If their product wasn't defective we wouldn't be needing to discuss cost associated with this repair....See Moresink protector
Comments (7)Recently I noticed that mine is leaving marks on my white Kohler cast iron sink. It appears that rust is coming through the white coating on it. I kept seeing this odd orange staining on my sink and it was really hard to get off. Maybe I ruined it by putting it into the dishwasher...it looks ok except that it is leaching out orange rust from the broken down coating that is also stained an orange color. It is not from anything that I have used in the sink or poured into it. So I would say if you are going to get one, going with the stainless might hold up better. I have mixed feelings about it, I only got it to protect the pretty finish on my beautiful new sink and it is somewhat occasionally useful in setting vegetables on to drain but I can't really think of any other reason for it. I'm sorry I spent so much money on something that I have only had a few months and has already failed....See MoreNeed Rubber Sink Mat For Silgranit Sink
Comments (8)I should think you'd need a bath mat! Are you sure you want to have something in your sink that keeps moisture trapped underneath? Before I got my grids, I tried one of those clear pebble design mats. It looked really good at first, but then it stained from food...coffee, wine, beets... and got orangey looking. It got dipped into hot soapy water nightly, but it was always damp underneath, and bad things can grow there. There is a stainless grid available. Go to the link below and type in the sink model number. Once you have the grid number, you can do a search for where to get one at a better than list price. -Babka Here is a link that might be useful: Blanco stainless grid...See MoreStrategies for washing dishes in a large single sink vs double sink
Comments (105)I just got a new ruvati stainless steel sink in a 60/40 split. It took me forever to decide because I felt I had to get a large single bowl. I finally chose what I felt I would like the most and I love it. I've had it three weeks and am so happy with it. I have two friends that each redid their kitchens and got single bowls and regret it so not everyone dislikes the double bowl sink. I'd never want a 50-50 double but the 60-40 meets.all my needs....See Moremarissa16
