Do you have a kitchen faucet not mounted in center back of sink?

We are contemplating placing our deck-mounted faucet and handle someplace slightly more unconventional (back corner, centered on side, front corner...not sure). If you have a deck-mounted faucet spout and handle mounted someplace OTHER THAN the back center of your sink, please share photos and comments.

(Note: this is for our one-and-only main kitchen sink).

We mounted our faucet to the right side of our prep sink, as you can see, not enough space at the back. It functions well. The sink is placed in sideways, too.

At my main/cleanup sink, I have a double-bowl, 70/30 sink with the faucet mounted between them. That places the faucet on the right for the large bowl and on the left for the small bowl.

My prep sink is a 5-sided sink w/the faucet mounted on the right corner at the "cut out".

I'm not sure if these will help, but I thought I'd post them.

BTW...have you checked the Finished Kitchens Blog (FKB) or searched this site? I know I've seen sinks w/offset faucets...

You have such a huge wall of windows there, I really think you could put the sink anywhere you want and it would look fine. I'd go for what functions best. Found some pictures of sinks that aren't centered under the window. I think they look great. I'm not a big fan of symmetry though. I don't "need" things to be centered. Kitchen sink drain hole: Center, center back, left or right?

The term is "offset drain" (i.e. not in the center), and it offers a couple of advantages. It allows you to set down, e.g., a roasting pan to soak, without covering the drain hole. Also, it allows more room under the sink for storage, trash, whatever, because your plumbing and disposal are not smack-dab in the center. I don't quite agree with Mikespringer. Typically what causes the plumbing to need to be retrofit from an older sink is the depth of the new sink (plus countertop which adds about an inch). Older sinks might be 6 or 7 inches deep, and as Mike said, newer sinks tend to be 8-9+" deep plus a thicker countertop than, say, formica was. Also, newer disposals tend to be bigger than the older ones. That means your older plumbing outlet position out of the wall could be too high. But moving the sink's drain hole 2-3 inches from the center of the sink to the back isn't as disruptive. I had an older shallow sink with a center drain that I replaced with a 9" deep sink with an offset drain in the rear right. Luckily, my plumbing didn't need any changes, even with the added depth of the sink, thicker countertop and big disposal. It just depends on your setup. I really like my sink's offset drain hole in the rear right. But it is more common to find sinks' offset drains in the rear center which is fine too. So I wouldn't worry if the drain is offset center or offset right; just having it offset is an advantage. There's only a few sinks I know of that are offset to the right, which are the Blancodiamond Supersingle in Silgranit (very large sink), the Elkay Elumina, some of the Shaws fireclay sinks and the Rachiele sinks. But you can easily find quite a number of sinks at all price points with an offset drain rear center.

Hi Lisa, I think I was suppose to get you some info about my old kitchen as well, I am sorry haven't done it yet. I have just been crazy busy. We homeschool, so I am trying to fit everything we didn't do into this last month. They are already ahead so don't know why I worry. Anyway ...here is a pic of faucet. I don't have it installed yet but do have it in my possession now. It is beautiful, heavy, I love it. This pic is a bathroom one, but have the same in kitchen only it comes with a side spray. It is also gorgeous and heavy. My granite guys were very impressed with side spray as they said most they see are plastic. I can't wait to see it with my Shaw. Oh yes, its from the Sigma Reserve Collection, from the Sancerre line. Truly beautiful, and of course it doesn't have the plug pop up.

My main sink had to be off-center with the window above it, so we compensated by putting the faucet over to the left. It's a Moen Aberdeen, and that's its handle to the right of it:

Buehl.......I love your sink. Could you please tell me who makes it? I'm looking for one just like it (I think). :-) I want the bigger bowl to measure 20-21" wide, and I need it fit into a 37" base cabinet. Also, if you happen to know what your faucets are, I'd appreciate that info as well. Thanks so much. Finding a sink and a range hood are proving to be my most difficult tasks. :-)

I'm pretty sure that Buehl has a Ticor S405D, the same as I have. I ordered mine from Galaxy Tool Supply which I found out about by reading this forum.

Here is my dilemma. Maybe someone can help. We are installing a stainless sink in the corner. Because it has to fit, they recommended a 25" x 22" sink and no larger. You cannot find undermount sinks in that particular size. Everything either jumps to a 30" or goes down to a much smaller size unless of course someone can help. I preferred NOT to go off center with the faucet but I might have to if I want the sink at those preferred dimensions because you can get a D shaped sink closer to those dimensions. Any more thoughts about off center faucets? I am very symmetrical and the focal point will be the corner and an off center faucet bothers me. Thanks!
