same color looks different in 2 rooms
Comments (14)and less natural light it looks like a very deep brown. The entire wall has not been painted yet but it is a pretty distinct difference. If he's using good quality BenM paint, after two coats the color will balance out - after one full coat over the B. Pear you will see more balance towards the color of the paint chip/sample. Two coats is going to equalize the color from room to room, but you are still going to have the issue of light. LT is not going to look the *same* in both of those rooms because one has less natural light. At night, eh, it will depend on what else is going on in the room and the individual lighting plans for each room. It's not unusual for the colors to look more alike at night with artificial lighting than during the day and influence of natural lighting. As long as you know to expect a reasonable balance of LT room to room and not exact *match* and identical, you'll be fine when it's finished. Changing the plan now, changing to another neutralized color, isn't going to solve anything because it too will be influenced by the current, differing wall colors and light....See MoreCabinet & trim paint colors different shades - does it look terrible?
Comments (49)My wife doesn't love it, but I think she just hasn't gotten used to the change yet. She thinks it looks too new and doesn't match the walls or her style. As long as she's not crying, though, I figure it isn't too bad and just have to wait for her to get used to it. :) We both do wish we could have salvaged the old linoleum, but I think this will be better for resale and easier to keep clean....See MoreNeed a color a shade darker than SW Natural Linen
Comments (11)Maybe this will help get a more helpful answer to my question. 😉 Here is a Samplize and a painted sample board of SW Natural Linen against my cabinets. Looks good in my opinion!!! However, based on what happened to the current wall color (SW Neutral Ground), and the painted section (SW Natural Linen) below, I know that the paint will go on lighter and grayer on the actual wall. There is not enough contrast with the cabinets for me. There is contrast with the color on the board, but not when the color is painted on the walls. Above the sample board is the wall paint SW Neutral Ground. Below the sample board is a painted swatch of SW Natural Linen. I want the color with a tad bit more gold that actually looks like the sample board. Here are sample boards against the current color of SW Neutral Ground. See how the samples look a bit more beige than the gray color it took on the wall? Any more color suggestions?...See MoreGarage Door is a Different Color White than the Trim
Comments (15)My question though is could they repaint the door at the factory for some upcharge? I feel like I see all sorts of doors --garage and people --installed on houses in the factory white that does not match the trim, so that variation must not bother a lot of people. I am one of those people who tests well on those shade-tint differentiation tests and I see subtle mismatches everywhere so I think I tune them out Have you thought of continuing that band of stone along that side of the house to the right hand corner? That part of the house is going to be seen a lot because people drive, not walk and pull into your driveway. So from what I understand you are objecting to is something like this: your trim is whiter than your garage door. And what Mark and Verbo are bringing up is this: You are fixated on the off-color of the garage door (being fixated is fine) but you don't really seem to notice the lower left hand corner, which, for people who pay attention (which is not many) what they are going to notice is this teeny tiny little rectangle of stone that shows up nowhere else on this side of the house. They are not going to notice the subtle shade difference in the white of the door with that bit of stone looking at them right there. So have you considered this? It's probably very frustrating to get answers that are not just Yes or No about noticing a paint color. But when you ask "Do You Notice", people are going to tell you what *they* notice, which is sometimes really more noticeable than what you've been worried about....See Morecpartist
