SS Soap dispensers - what can go wrong? & does yours match?
Comments (4)I, too, was horrified at the cost of the "matching" soap dispenser for my HansGrohe faucet. I also didn't even like the styling that much. I got one at Ikea that I love... and it was like $20 or something. Maybe even less.... my faucet is chrome and the dispenser is too. I worried about the chromes being a little different, but they look absolutely fine together. Plus, if this dispenser dies (I have had them fail from parts wearing out) I can just put another cheap Ikea one in, since I bought an extra. And- I shouldn't say, "cheap" because that implies it looks cheap. I'm very sensitive to "cheap-looking" hardware and honestly, it looks great. So, I don't know about SS finishes, but for chrome, no problem mixing, IMHO. Can you wait till you get your Eve and then take it around to showrooms and look at the SS finish of other brands you're considering mixing with it?...See MoreSoap dispenser or no soap dispenser?
Comments (36)Can anyone recommend a dispenser with a LONG spout? The one we have now (Price Pfister) has an utterly useless 2" spout. I have found a 3 7/8" spout, also 3 1/2", but am wondering if there are any that are longer. The new sink is 10" deep. We weren't going to get a new soap dispenser, but after reading this thread, I thought, "I don't want ugly bottles on my new granite!" I could do a rack mounted on the sink cabinet door, but I think the dispenser is neater :-) It just needs a long spout so it can actually squirt dish soap into the pots, instead of dribbling down the side of the sink. Will definitely get a NeverMT--so glad that I heard of it here!...See MoreDoes your soap dispenser match your faucet?
Comments (3)They should go together but they don't have to look like a suite. Or you could go another route. According to the parts guys at the high end plumbing store, Brasstech soap dispensers are far superior to the rest. The hole is bigger (some are only pinholes) and the mechanism is better. The pump core is guaranteed and they will replace it. Apparently a lot of soap dispensers get gunk up and fail....See MoreIn what sequence do I mount the faucet, spray and soap dispenser?
Comments (5)We have a Blanco Silgranit double bowl sink. The left bowl is larger than the right. I figured that I would probably utilize the soap dispenser on the left side over the right as I plan to use the larger bowl for washing pans and thus the soap dispenser would be handier for me on that side. I also decided to have the garbage disposal installed on the right side. Looking at the size of the garbage disposal, the size of the bottle on the soap dispenser as well as considering the amount of space available under my sink to house all this I figured that it might be cumbersome to fill the soap dispenser if it was on the right side behind the garbage disposal. I looked at a lot of finished kitchens and saw that they are equally placed on either side. To this end, I think it comes down to a personal preference and just what you feel will work best for you in your kitchen. There is really no right or wrong place. Sorry I don't have any pictures as we are still in the completion phase and the granite is being installed on Tuesday. I will try to post a picture after that. Hope this helps you. Good luck...See Morebabushka_cat
