I have painted white inside the glass the glass door cabinets and the others are just wood color. That what I did.

Wood with a nice finish for wiping off. Paint will show scratches or other marring more than the clear finish on wood. They'll be less 'forgiving' and show use faster, I think. It's a different issue for glass front cabs. The choice for those depends on how you want them to look.

For what it is worth, I am painting the inside color on cabinets a deeper blue than the wall color. In fact my painter suggested I wait until it is all in before I finalize the wall color...

Unless you really want glass cabinets to look like they are part of the wall, I would do it a slightly different color. You need to go a darker value inside because it won't get as much light as your room.

Thanks---that's a great tip! We have two greens picked out as the final two options for the wall (had to match cabinet color and floor color so got it narrowed that far) but both seem too dark for the wall right now---maybe we'll settle on one of the two, paint the insides the full strength color, and then play around with adding white before settling on a wall color.

My wood shelves are painted white inside my cream coloured closed cabinets. I have glass shelves for my cabs with glass fronts.

My cabinets are cream-painted maple shaker style. The ones with solid doors are natural maple inside and the ones with glass fronts are the same colour as the outside. I do not have glass shelves.

I have cherry cabs with birch insides. I'm leaving them natural in my glass front cabs. In fact, I have a cove area on my ceiling that I also lined in birch to match the cabinet inside.

Ours are white inside and out. The cabinet guy used a super-hard lacquer, and told us they'd be very resistant to chips and scratches. I still lined all of them with the waffley-looking shelf liner material.

My hubby is our cabinetmaker.. cabinets will be painted white on outside, prefinished maple interiors.

My only upper cabinets are glass fronted, with no curtains. I am using an off white, called Halo, on the cabinets, with a brush stroke. The interior is wide beadboard with a blue grey wash over it.

I think the interiors should be painted.

My interiors are painted to match the painted cabinets -- this is at the recommendation of the Kitchen Designer. They have a lacquer finish to enhance wear. The cabinet exterior is SW Casablanca and dry-brush glazed with Van Dyke stain. My glass-fronted cabinets have tongue-n-groove maple stained on the back to match my stained island.

A previous decorator/colorist had recommended we paint the cabinet interior in a previous facelift to create a consistent look when we opened the cabinet doors.
