It looks nice! Funny, it almost seems slightly wider than long (vs. square) but I guess it is just the camera angle. I really like the countertop and hardware too. Mind if I ask what stone you went with and where you got the hardware and what model it was? i know what you mean about agonizing over details. It's especially hard for me because we're going to a much bigger kitchen that we'll have to grow into so I wanted some flexibility in the design (meaning shelves/rollouts I can adjust down the road since I don't yet know all of what is going in it.) I do now have a better appreciation for drawers. And yet at the same time, I feel like I made the decision for the Rohl's farm sink without doing much research. Let's hope my gut there was correct. It's also hard because DH and I have to agree and there are a number of choices that seem good. I really think a black sink that would blend into the Absolute Black honed granite on the island would look best and be more dramatic. An actual granite sink felt too heavy and would require additional time/money and I worried that if anything broke, it would be hard to replace it vs. an undermount I will google Dawn too. The Elklay isn't inexpensive. I think it was $300-$400. Thank you! Thank you!

So what did everyone purchase - an Elkay or a Blanco? Months (or years later) are you happy with it? I've had a Blanco Silgranite and liked it a lot but did find it got a little scratched (maybe because it was a lighter color - biscotti) And oddly enough, about 2 years after it was installed, somehow, it got cracked. To this day I have no idea how. Maybe the cleaning woman dropped the stove grates when she was washing them?!?!? I don't know. Blanco did send us a new replacement sink and although it was challenging finding someone to install it, we did and never had a problem for the next 5 years that we lived there. New house now - doing a little kitchen updating and really considering going with an Elkay sink this time around but searching GardenWeb for some insight and others' experience.

I really wanted an Elkay quartzite sink with the integrated recessed draining shelf for my island. I liked the model #ELQTU342210. After talking it over with my GC/cabinet maker this morning, we decided I really didn't have enough room for it. I went with a Blanco Precis model 440141 and just hung up from ordering on the phone through a very nice gentleman at Homeclick.com. Their price was around the same as Overstockdeals.com and I'd read several people on here have good experiences with them. I've seen the Elkay sinks in a plumbing store beside the Sigranit Blanco and they look very much the same. I also watched the YouTube videos on them and have an Elkay plumber's supply catalogue. If you are looking for that kind of sink, I don't think you can go wrong with an Elkay. Good luck!

Hi Haley, Sorry I just saw your comment. Here are some photos I have in my archive. I can take different angles tonight if these aren't helpful. FWIW, 6 months later and we still love this sink. The dark color matches our black stainless appliances, but also just makes the sink more of a shadow, which is good to avoid drawing eyes to dirty dishes! We use the faucet hose+sprayer to give it a good rinse every evening after cleaning up dinner to keep food from drying in place. We've given it 1 deep cleaning (we also have a grid on the bottom, so deep cleaning involved a thorough cleaning of that, too). The water filter is good for filling water to cook or a tea kettle. The soap dispenser is actually really nice because it keeps the counter tidy. The faucet is touch activated (got it before the remodel) and it's amazingly handy. We added an air button for the disposal (which by code has to have a manual light switch on the wall, which for us is not in reach of the sink) and it has never been pressed accidentally and is very useful so I recommend it. The dishwasher air gap is required by code here so no avoiding that!
