How deep are your mudroom lockers?
Comments (14)Way way way back when, I used to post a lot. I can't believe it, but I still see some names from back then !! Our build got put off because we bought some coastal property and we have to build there before we can build our primary residence here. FINALLY starting coastal build in October !! At any rate, I had a geocities account where I would keep pictures of mudroom lockers and that web address was passed along from member to member for a long time. Then Geocities closed. : ( I have now loaded my collection into photobucket. Not many dimensions, but lots of mudroom locker pictures. I have collected over 60 pictures so far (including adding those up-post). One at a time ... As a slideshow ... http://s1006.photobucket.com/albums/af184/mudroomlockers/?albumview=slideshow Hope this helps all !! p.s. if you know anything about elevators or have any opinions or suggestions, will you please go post on the elevator thread. Comments (5)I think a lot depends on the dimensions of your room. For me, the whole point of 'locker' type sytems is that each cubby needs to be deep enough to accomodate hooks on the side, not just on the back. If they are only on the back, you really haven't added any wall space. I've also seen some designs where the benches were [IMO] overdone-- around me, horzontal surfaces tend to aquire clutter if not used pretty regularly. I think its nice to have [say] 18in. of bench space for each person who will be using the space at the same time, but more than that will end up doing more harm than good. I tend to be a bit skeptical of those lovely wicker baskets. they look nice, but I doubt they'd last long, and if they make it tougher to put things away, they won't be used. For the new house, I want a small closet with hangers as well as the hooks so I can store winter jackets out of sight without lugging them to some other part of the house. I also want drawers for extra gloves and hats, things like that. A spot for sunglasses is a must-have, too: In my current room I have white coated wire baskets attatched to the wall that I can just toss my bike gloves and iPod in, and my sunglasses hang from the edge nicely....See Moremudroom lockers
Comments (1)I would do a bench (open underneath for heat duct) and large hooks on the wall. Vertical Bench depth cubbies in the corner since it is ridiculous to try to guess what gets stashed in the overhead cubbies, like old lunch boxes and sirty socks and mittens 😝...See MorePaint colour for lockers in mudroom with black and white checked tile
Comments (10)First fix and replace that boob light . Then it depends on who uses the lockers . We had factory finished lockers in a mud room in 3 different colors for our kids who were the users . Waht is the rest of your style . Waht do you mean by moody ? I see nothing that would say a moody color would be the best....See Moreeditionk
