Rosepetals nursery has many varieties for $7. I have a few myself. That's really more my price range. I shudder to think of how much I spent on much more expensive roses. I'm still going to have to wait 3 years for them to get glorious. It seems like an eternity at the moment. I want to go outside every five minutes to see if they grew more or bloomed again since the last time I checked. Jin, they have open garden day on June 23 from 8 am-12noon, no appointment necessary. You could also make an appointment with Angel Gardens and hit both of them the same day. I think it may be 2 hours drive for you, not sure where you are but I am guessing Orlando area. I should consider myself lucky to be only a short drive from both of them, 15 and 20 minutes respectively, but they sell out of a lot so quickly so I still look elsewhere. Nelson's might also be near you. Their roses are $28 at the local nursery but $20 in house and they are on R. fortuniana. One interesting thing I've noticed about their roses is that they are perfect when they are just off the truck but if they sit around at the local nursery for a few weeks they start looking raunchy--even the OGRs and Austins. I guess the local nursery does not spray.

Rockridge rose - so sorry I missed your question, life interfered with my rose hobby! When I called to ask (Friday of Labor Day weekend), the woman on the phone said “they haven’t let them know yet” if they would be having the big sale - not sure how to interpret that? And, I agree with supporting local nurseries when possible, but I also buy online & understand that people need to stick to their budget. In that spirit, I did treat myself to one rose from the 20% sale - it’s a Tamora in the larger green Austin pot. (Per the growers tag, it was grown by Otto & Sons in SoCal - Regan’s must buy from them.) (Sorry re the horizontal picture!)

I went overboard - it was a sale :). And mostly roses that aren’t available elsewhere, so I figured I’d just do one big order. I have Rose de Rescht and like it, so got another, and James Austin had a run in with the dog and needed to be replaced. The first bunch will come next spring, the rest in fall.
