Which side is single faucet handle on?

New pull-down faucet has single handle on the right side, actually angled a bit towards center so that it doesn't hit the window beyond. When I have the sponge in my right hand I find myself reaching under the faucet to turn on the water.

Do right handed people prefer the handle on the left? This type of faucet is new to me & I can't figure out the comfort zone.

I see what you mean, I mounted mine on the right, and I think I've been doing what you said with the sponge and not realizing it. When my plumber mounted it he asked if I was right handed, and that's how he determined to mount it on the right. I feels comfortable otherwise.

I'm right handed and I mounted mine on the left. It seemed more intuitive. I tend to hold things in my right so to rinse things off I carry things in my right(from every corner of my house since I'm the only one who knows where our sink is LOL) and turn it on with my left.

This is an old-ish thread, but I thought I'd say: i went to great lengths to get a faucet that went way up, but NOT BACK DOWN. That upside-down U shape doesn't actually leave that much clearance under the spout. Like the original poster, I wanted the clearance so I could slip a big pot under the faucet, or tip and turn a smaller pot while I was washing it, without having to pull out the spray. I searched for a faucet shaped like an upside-down L. The Grohe LadyLux Plus was one choice The Kohler Avatar was another (and the one I eventually chose; I should have gotten the center handle, though) There are others, but I don't remember which.

Thank you for the comments and ideas. We already own the faucet and it is installed with the handle to the side. I haven't found the manual yet. We have two drawers with many manuals for things but not that one! My DH said it might be in the safe with the receipt. I'm not sure it's a Moen--it's not the model in my link, at any rate, so I want to find the manual before proceeding further. Thanks for the visuals, Breezygirl and A2gemini. Those help. Fouramblues, thanks for mentioning the hot/cold direction for the handles. I think ours would be opposite of the norm, too, so that's another thing to think about. I thought briefly about a Tapmaster but we already have so much stuff under our sink (RO unit and tank, GD and DW wires & plugs, etc.) that I didn't want to add one more thing. Marcia

I'm no expert on Moen but that looks abnormal to me.ÃÂ Surely shouldn't be so much rusting. Many Moen faucets have a lifetime warranty to the original owner of the home in which they're installed ... so I suggest contacting them for assistance ... unless you're not the original owner and can't verify the purchase date, etc. My grandmother's Moen kitchen faucet developed some trouble recently, they sent several parts at no charge. The Moen phone rep was highly impressed that we have the original receipt from Dec 1997 so I could quote the store name, price, and even the time-stamp.
