It's difficult for me to see the finishes enough in that pic to comment. It does look great to see faucets at those lovely sinks, though. Are those the Elkay soap dispensers? They look an awful lot like mine. :) The look of your prep zone setup screams function. The compost bin in the counter is very handy, and I can imagine the sink shape with the two basins will make veggie prep easy. And the OTF?!? I can't wait for you to start using your kitchen and report back on how useful your prep zone is. Love the faucet nozzle cozy!

Babka...how about adding your kitchen to the Finished Kitchens Blog? Lyno (and everyone else)...the best advice we can give you for your kitchen is to take your time in the design phase. Don't let anyone rush you (especially your KD or GC). This is where you have the greatest impact on the final product. The layout is probably the #1 item...a bad layout can sink a kitchen even if it has great cabinets, appliances, etc. A great layout can make up for less than ideal cabinets, etc. Good luck! I believe this is a standard cut requiring normal stone cutter skills. Your sink probably came with a template for the granite guy to use to make the sink cut out. In your case he would cut away just a bit more to give you a positive reveal. The only trick here is to be sure that your sink has sufficient lip to both have some exposed and to have enough left under the granite to secure the sink to the underside of the granite. In our case we sent our entire sink in the shipping box with the fabricator so he would make whatever measurements he needed. This should not be a big deal.

Thanks for info on pricing, Emmie. Francy I read your post on this thread daily just to reassure myself that the extra money for the soapstone will make my house love me as much as I love it. It is so quirky without a level or square spot to be found. My husband insists if all our furniture were on wheels it would slowly end up in the southwest corner of our dining room. As you can see from my later posts, we are considering a mix of materials for the perimeter counters - ss and marble and we have wood on our island. I'm afraid I'm not as patient as you in waiting for two years. I'm thinking two weeks is a long time LOL. Maybe I will pick up a second job = "Would you like fries with that?" or "Welcome to your hometown Walmart - need a cart?"
