I had a problem finding the right sink, too. I have a 29" sink base and couldn't find anything that fit my specifications. For some reason they seem to make sinks really big or really small. Nothing in between. I went back and forth between granite composite and stainless. Then I ended up getting the Blanco Silgranit (511-712) 24" x 20 13/16" x 10". Yeah, it's deep and I'm getting used to the extra reach. But it certainly is beautiful! I was able to have my existing cabinets bumped out to accomodate the 20 13/16" width. I didn't want my fauct to be squished against the backsplash. I'm not trying to talk you into anything. Just wanted to let you know that I feel your pain. :-) So to answer the question that you actually asked about the stainless sinks, I agree with Weissman. "You really won't notice the nickel content or most likely the gauge either. Pick a sink because you like a look and the price." I don't think you could go wrong with Blanco or Elkay. They're both reputable names. HTH!

Our sink fixtures are a mix of satin nickel and brushed SS and they look fine together. Our lights are pewter. Our drawer pulls and door knobs are antique iron. Our pantry door hardware is brushed nickel. They all look fine together. My personal preference is to have hardware and fixtures in the same color "family" - usually broken down into "silver" or "gold". However, you can mix them up if you're careful bow you do it.

O.P. here. Wow. So many comments on this thread, even a year later! For the record, we still are really pleased with our Kraus sink and think it provided great bang for the buck. I'm also really glad we went with the single, large basin. The grid on the bottom has also been super functional and useful. Zookeeper - that faucet is the Moen Solidad single-handle high-arc pull-out faucet in stainless. Unfortunately, it is not made anymore; it actually is a faucet we purchased several years ago. I considered buying a new one when we replaced the counters and sink, but couldn't find a well-reviewed faucet that I liked as much, never mind the cost. We did end up getting a part replacement from Moen because the pullout head was a bit loose, but they were great about it and stood behind their product. I'm glad we kept the faucet. You might try to browse eBay. We have had good luck with Moen faucets throughout our house. Like many companies, they might be suffering slightly from the "not as good as the old product" affliction, but overall they are still great, and their faucets don't cost a small fortune. Kohler faucets on the other hand - never again. We purchased a kitchen faucet from them (the predecessor to this Moen) that had a chemical reaction with our well water and leached foam into our drinking water! It was a known issue with that faucet, and the company replaced it, assuring me it wouldn't happen again. Well it did. They sent me the same junk. I was furious and they ended up issuing me a refund.

I had a 20 year old Blanco kitchen faucet fail. The company sent me replacements parts, and I still couldn’t get it to function properly. I was going to order a new faucet until I realized the one I had was nearly $800! I also noticed the company offered a lifetime guarantee, so I requested a replacement. I didn’t have the receipt any more so I sent a photo of my old faucet, and the company replaced it free of charge! I am a forever customer of Blanco because the faucet stands the test of time and the company stands by their product!
