I bought the support kit (not Rohl) and all it was was white pipe like used in closets. I ended up not using it because the cabinet maker put a shelf in.

Because it is under mounted you more than likely will need the kit to hold it "up" in place. I ended up not needing the kit because my cabinet maker without realizing it created a ledge that worked perfectly for it to rest on. hope this helps!

Does the Franke sink still have the brand name printed right on the front apron? Or did they change that? When I see the sinks online, the ones that are from Franke usually show the brand name on the apron, but the Coastal Collection line does not. I recall reading a post from someone who had a black one. She was having trouble with the finish. She didn't have any luck with their customer service people. I'm sorry I can't remember more about it. But it made me hesitant to go with that sink (that, and the brand name on the apron). Though I did love the shape of it! Francy

I replace sinks for a living and have yet to pull a countertop to replace a sink except in solid surface. You tap the cabinet front off, change the sink, and put it back on. I've done it twenty times. Did it the day before yesterday. For easiest sink changes, insist that your fabricator strap, not insert fasten, your sink in place with a Hercules Universal Sink Harness (Braxton Bragg) or a Sink Strap (Regent Stone Products) or two. Two easily accessible bolts instead of 12 inaccessible ones. I'd change a strapped apron undermount in a hour at most. Make sure he puts a nice radius at your sink cut-out too, 3/8" minimum. No pencil edge, please.
