northcarolina, Before I priced the design out with Scherr's I used Ikea's 3D design tool to make an as-close-as-possible version of the layout using the stock Ikea cabinets in the program (mostly as a baseline or benchmark for price) using the closest matching door style. I think the Ikea version of the entire kitchen would have been about $10200. The final result from Scherr's which included an upgrade to plywood cabinet boxes, matching veneered ends on exposed ends, custom sizes to maximize the space usage, a more expensive wood (QS-Oak) and dovetailed hardwood drawer boxes rather than Ikea's metal drawers, was about $17800. Yes it works well, and is still good. The explanation is good too. I have a drawer fridge that I have taken out and put back a few times, and it too needs a slant to ensure the drawers close fast and lightly. If I had to do it all over again, I'd incline the entire row of cabinets. Then. to have a countertop that is level (or almost level, in the direction I want it to slant), I'd add shims on top of the cabinetry. I have found it is good to have a countertop that slants 1% away from the wall so that water knows which way to go if there is too much water, i.e. accidentally too much water. There is no such thing as perfectly level when water has to flow, so it is best when that excess water ends up going to the side you want it go to.

Well, I finally got this thing done! I appreciated everyone's ideas. I knew that putting spices in the pullouts just would not work with all the other stuff that I had to get into the pullouts. I had still intended to use the pulldown spice rack in one of the pullouts, but alas, with the side rails taking up space, the pullout was just a 1/2" too narrow. So, I went with about Plan Q and managed to move enough things to the top two pullouts to make room for the door-mounted spice racks in two top cabinets. In all, we put in four pullouts (one more below the bottom one shown in the photo below) and moved around the door-mounted spice racks. I still miss my old (small) walk-in pantry, but this seems to be workable now.

Waht 36” size are you wanting is that the height or the width.I have beeen designing Ikea kitchens for 20+ years and have always been able to make the cabinets work in some pretty weird places and have thme look awesome. A to scale floor plan is what we need with anything that can’t be moved marked and all meaurements clearly marked appliance sizes also. Use graph paper it is easier to do a to scale plan on it and also easier for use to work from. You want the cabinets to fit tight .
