Love mine, what a good use of space! I installed some wire racks made for that purpose... I think they were rev-a-shelf from HD. Super easy.

Love this idea and will need to add it to the list as we start our remodel plans! Is it better to order them after market or when you are ordering all your cabinets?

Mine were from Container store, I bought them three or four houses ago and keep moving them with me.

Way cheaper to get them after-market. They're a significant upcharge if you get them built-in.

I will have these in my new kitchen (mine came w/ cabs). I think it's a great use of the space, but now realize I will need a step stool to use them once my fridge is installed. I'm 5'2" - just something to consider if you're short.

More convenient for me is a tall but narrow undercounter cabinet beside my range at my lake kitchen, but we couldn't work that into my new kitchen plan.

OK, plenty of options here! I'll probably go for the cheapest option at this point. Feeling poor as we prepare for the third payment on this project... whew!

I love the use of space, but at not quite 5' tall, I do share amck's concern about reaching things.

See, I'm 5'10", and you only need to be able to reach the bottom of the thing you're reaching for.

i purchased one of those pot lid racks from homegoods - $10. you can also get them at BBB for about $15.

Mine were made by my custom cabmaker but I think it may have been our esteemed Buehl who picked up some wire ones, perfectly functional, from Walmart? I'd sure check that out. A big savings.

Purrus - we purchased ours for the first couple of upper cabinets but DH quickly realized that he could make them fairly easily.

Here, DH made narrow dividers out of plexiglass ( I wanted something very thin).

Source for vertical dividers below, you can hopefully see all that they are made of. Cut a little rabbet out of a strip of wood, screw it to the top/bottom of cabinet, etc. :)

When I built my cabinets back in 1986, I dadoed out a slot in the top and bottom to slide a 1/4" piece of masonite in as a divider, still working today...

Also, you can retrofit at a later date.

I also am short (5'2"), so I had a low pull out tray or drawer installed in my over the fridge cabinet. I keep large pots in it, but It would work with tray storage as well. For me, these space-gobbling pans are perfect here. They are too large to stack and reside here in a double row that can be reached from the front or the sides when pulled out. (I would prefer that the drawer sides were lower than mine are.)

The pull out makes it MUCH easier to reach items stored here.

I store my large sheet pans and cutting boards and such beside (and under!) the super susan in the corner base cabinets:

I'm also short, so in my previous home, I did both - vertical storage over the fridge that was for lesser-used items like platters. Daily-used items like cookie sheets and cutting boards were kept in a vertical cabinet (lower) next to the cooktop.
