I love your phrase: "falling back-in-love" project for your house! Often we just accept all the things we don't really love anymore, and either ignore them for years (or finally just move). So good of you to give her a nice new coat of love, and something you can enjoy for many more years. I'm in love with our kitchen again now, but those words are inspiring me to move onto some of the other parts of our home!

What a refreshing facelift for your charming kitchen. I especially like the new cabinets surrounding your fridge (instant update!) and your sink. We have a similar size traditional corner sink now and hope to change it to a small apron front. What are the dimensions of your Franke sink and did you have any problems installing it in the corner? It looks great.

What a great transformation! Your new kitchen looks terrific. The glaze gives your cabinets a whole new look, I had to look back at your kitchen configuration in the before photos because it looks like you put in all new cabinets. The Franke farm sink looks great in the corner cabinet.

Thanks all! Madielou - the sink is 24 inches and the carpenter was able to install it into the existing counter cabinet with reinforcements (2x4 he installed both solid under the actual sink and in diagonal strips in the corners). It did take a while to get the sink in after it was ordered. So if you know you want one, order it at least 4 weeks before you need it.

Am very impressed by the detailing of the cupboard doors and the glaze contrast, esp. in conjunction with the semi-opaque glass uppers. Distinctive and "different" in a good way. I would smile each time I opened one of them.

Love the glazing on your cabs! Talk about a rejunvenation--I thought they were new cabs! And your backsplash compliments the cabs perfectly IMO. It's a great rebirth and I'm sure you're going to smile everytime you walk into your great new kitchen!

Thank you again for the compliments. Ours was a modest budget but we wanted to make sure we got the most out of it. It was difficult to picture how it would all turn out, and having observed from the sidelines on GW, I knew just how easy it could turn bad. However, we were lucky to find a good contractor who kept us informed, and we are happy to say we did not go over budget in any way. Most of all, we now have found the "loving feeling" we thought we lost a while back for our home. We hope to tackle the rest of the house starting with the family room next. Thanks again to this forum and I hope some of you also join in on the others (home decorating)on GW. I could definitely use more help there, too!

What a terrific update -- the yellow wall color is wonderful, the cabinets look brand new (and the new one over the refrigerator blends in perfectly), and the built-in "hutch" area is lovely. Enjoy your new kitchen!
