Gardenburgher, I didn't answer because it's seemingly in a maybe-can/maybe-can't area, and I hoped someone would have a definitive answer. I went and measured our configuration, though. We have frameless cabinets in the same corner configuration as yours, but with our oven to the right of the 15" door, and with a 15" drawer above--not that that changes the unit mounting.

The top surface of the bar that swings out and would be the intersecting element (the wire shelves hang off to its left) is 19-1/2" from the inside floor of the cabinet; I believe the unit is mounted just as low as it can be, at the bottom of the side wall.

FWIW, the distance is also just a bit more than 10" from it to the top surface of our cabinet box, the surface the counter sits on. This distance may be different for you.

Your sink will sit above your box level at cabinet level, of course, so an issue is how far down the cabinet front that front projecting surface will go. Maybe the bar would swing out happily below it?

Another issue is the unit's swing-arc. My husband, who installed it, says it it not designed to open to a right angle, but stops just short. I can't confirm this because our oven handle, which projects 1" and is curved on the corner, is in the way, and the unit's side bar opens right until it hits it. My husband says it could not go further even if the oven were not there.

Hopefully the sink height measurement will keep it out of your way and you'll have your answer with that and not have to go further. If not and someone doesn't step in here, you might also ask at ikeafans.com. A number of people over there have used the Lee Valley unit and have also done their own installations.

I know it's not my post but I'd love it if someone could post a pic of this. My potential layout has 2 corners and I'm looking for options.

It's the one set in blue cabinets. And it shows the door fully open.

GB, I noticed that when talking about the height the sink sits at I said cabinet level when I was thinking that depending on your counter thickness you might be able to set it higher if needed.

I have the Lee Valley unit--one that opens to the right (like I imagine you're considering for your corner and like in the photo in the above post). I opened mine while imagining that the cabinet to the right of the blind corner base stuck out two inches further than it actually does.

With that configuration in mind (which I think is what you're saying yours is), it think it will be difficult for you to access the inner storage area of the unit. You need to open the door (with the shelve that are mounted on it) wide enough to allow access to the inside of the cabinet, and I don't think you'll be able to.

I'm not thrilled with my Lee Valley unit, anyway, so I think the silver lining is that you can probably find something better. Unfortunately I don't have any suggestions for "something better". It definitely makes the cabinet more accessible, but I don't know if it's worth the cost (even if it is considered affordable).

It will still work, but not as well. I swapped ranges when I moved and the new one sticks out farther. It just doesn't open as fully, as melle suggested.
I liked the unit, it isn't a cadilac, but it was definitely more budget friendly than some other units and was more than adequate for me.

I'll try to get up the the old house and take a photo and do some measurements tomorrow.

Melle_sacto and Claybabe  Thanks for your input as well. IÂve lived with the blind corner for 10 years and itÂs a bottomless pit, so I figured something was better than nothing. Ours is a budget remodel, so I donÂt even want to research the other more expensive blind corner units. If they would work, I donÂt want to know!   :-(

IÂm going to mull over the info that youÂve all presented and try to bring DH into the thought process. Hopefully we can figure something out. Right now, I hesitate to put things away in there because itÂll just become a bottomless pit again.
