Subway Tile Backsplash Grout is 1/8 in. HELP!
Comments (10)I come from the bathrooms forum :) and I think the general consensus is the white grout can be tricky to maintain especially in a moist bathroom environment. However, in a kitchen, you mainly have to watch out for grease and spatters, make sure anything is wiped up when it happens instead of letting it fester. My own experience is we did white tile with white grout in our basement (poor ventillation) bath, and got busy with new kids and life for 7 years. I cleaned it but probably not all that often. It actually still looks okay, it's not really dingy, but it has kind of yellowed. So based on that, I think your grout will be fine for quite awhile, just take care of it. Using a high-quality sealer will help. Is it epoxy?...See Moresubway tiles- is 1/16 grout line better or 1/8?
Comments (5)We try to get the thinnest joints as posted above. There will be some shimming of the subways as you will find one wall will slowly pass the other wall then catch up again. We normally tile 3 or 4 rows at a time, completely around the room as to allow for adjustments, occasionally checking with a straight edge to check for hums and bellies....See MoreGrout line size for 4x8 subway tile?
Comments (8)You want a quaility 1/16" microsanded grout for floor. I suggest Laticrete permacolor. I use the same on 99% of my glass tile installs but i do look to the glass MFG for guidance to be safe. and no it will not scratch, still do test ! The point was to take guidance from the MFG not the chatweb in regrards to the specific glass! did you see my post? I think 1/8 a smart choice for expansion contraction alone. -best...See MoreQuick!
