Please show me the inside of your flatware drawer
Comments (42)I used a Rev-a-shelf for the flatware - originally planned on a 2 layer system but this works fine. For the knife drawer - love the insert - I hated the one that came with the drawer. 2 21 inch drawers flatware only Knives only - Wusthoff insert Junk drawer - several modifications since the picture...See MoreMedallion Victoria Cabinets? Show Me Your Drawers... please? :)
Comments (5)Sorry ironcook! I somehow missed this thread til now. If you want pics, I could try and get some of my base cabinets for you. They are not installed yet...soon though. Probably within 2 weeks. In my opinion, the drawer style of the Victoria is quite simple compared to the details of the door. I have two 36" drawer bases, and two 24" drawer bases on perimeter. In the larger drawer bases the drawers seem almost plain to me, especially when one takes into consideration the applied moulding and detail on the Victoria doors. When I first saw the drawers I was underwhelmed, to say the least. In retrospect its probably better they are more simple, since I intend to do a pair of lavish furniture style pulls on the drawers. Don't know if that helps you at all or not. Let me know if you still want pics:) FWIW mine are glazed cream (Oyster Heirloom), and not white white....See MorePlease show me your 36' & 42' aisles, and your Long Thin Islands!
Comments (28)Hi, hobokenkitchen Guidelines are just guidelines, and my husband and I never have felt crowded with the aisle and dimensions that we have in our kitchen -- true we each have a body mass index under 25! But things feel efficient in there: we can easily turn from one line of counters or from the range to the island without taking more than a couple of steps, and the 24" square island utility sink is easily accessible from both sides of the narrow island, from the prep counter against the windows and from the range on the interior wall. The refrigerator/freezer doors are not 36" wide, either, so it doesn't swing too much into the space, and even when the dishwasher door is fully open (on the window side, to the left of the island utility sink) it is possible to sidle around it. I think my only concern having lived with this arrangement for over a year is: it will be interesting to see how well the cork floor holds up over the years, because we really do cover the same territory on that floor over and over. So far no sign of extra wear. But I have extra cork tiles saved! Good luck to you, and thanks to CoCo for supplying those links. lynn...See MoreShow me your 4-drawer cab stacks, please
Comments (10)Main one in the cooking aisle is 33" wide and 6/6/6/12. Holds dinner cutlery (since I plate our meals at the stove), spatulas and various other cooking doodads, pans, pots: The ones at our coffee station are a 36" stack on the rhs with extra set of cutlery for DH to do his coffee, cereal, etc, DH junk drawer, and then various somewhat more organized stuff below (string, elastic bands, clips, and the like) and then I use the bottom one for occasional-use serving bowls. The stack on the lhs is only 12" wide and is 6/9/7.5/7.5. I wanted it to line up with the sink drawer to the right (hence 6" top drawer) and fridge drawers to the left (hence 9" second drawer). The 9" turned out to be one of my favorite drawers in the kitchen. It's deep enough to hold hubby's medicine and vitamin bottles which used to be a mess on our old desk that drove me batty. For some reason he lacks that thing in most people's brains that says to put the lid back on bottles after you use them. :-) Anyway, now I can just shut the drawer and marital harmony plus my sanity reigns on, lol....See Moreredroze
