battery operated window candles and wreaths with lights
Comments (13)I've seen many houses with candles in every window that are much brighter. Are these people using electric candles? Yes. The wires are a pain, but they still have the best quality light output currently available. As LED technology improves this should change, but right now all of the battery operated options I've seen pale in comparison. Too dim, and in the case of the options with 'flickering' lamps the light output is barely visible from a distance. Now, on Christmas wreaths with the clear string lights on front doors and windows. Can you buy lights that are battery operated? Yes, both Lowes and Target are stocking battery operated LED strings which would be ideal for wreaths. However, you may not like the quality of light LEDs emit. On the plus side, LEDs consume a fraction of the energy that the mini (twinkie) lights do so you should see improved battery life. I haven't seen the battery operated twinkie lights available in the usual retail outlets for several years now. If you've got to have them you'll have to search online. Does your spotlight operate wih batteries? I'm really trying to get away from cords LOL. No such animal exists since it isn't practical (you would need a heavy duty battery). I hear you on dealing with extension cords, but IMO one well placed spotlight on your front entry is a much easier solution and it looks better. It gives a stronger sense of 'Welcome, this is where you enter'....See More? Battery operated wall sconces and pic lighting
Comments (7)We have the same plaster problem and found a gorgeous set of 2 battery-operated sconces at QVC for 50.00. Real frosted glass shades and dark brown ( almost black ) real metal base and they're not cheap-looking by any means. They flicker like a real flame and cast a nice ambience glow of amber on the wall. Everyone who sees them in action think they're real gas lights. Contrary to the above posting...they have a battery life of about 500 ( yes FIVE HUNDRED hours ) I've had mine for almost 5 months and leave them switched on unattended for many hours at a time and batteries haven't needed replacing yet. Find them at QVC : Item Number H0835 Candle Impressions S/2 Flameless Wall Sconces w/Glass Shade. You'll love these wall sconces !...See MoreUnder picture lighting that is battery operated (for kitchen)
Comments (1)I did a quick google on battery powered picture lights and cordless picture lights. There are a number out there, some LED, some rechargeable, however they all seem to be OVER the picture lights. House of Troy seems to be the mfr. with the biggest selection. I think you are better off calling lighting stores in your area than trying Big Box stores....See MoreCan I electrify battery-operated lights?
Comments (7)While it's hard to find ratings on these candles, I suspect that given the run for more than a few hours on AAA cells means they're probably pulling less than 10ma a piece. You can buy a 700 mA 4.5V power supply from Radio Snack (on other places). It's then a matter of how finicky you can get trying to solder wires to the battery connections on each candle....See MoreUser
