If you have a blue bedroom, what color is attached bath painted?

I have a bedroom that is painted BM Buxton Blue, with latte and chocolate brown drapes. I wanted to paint the bath in a latte color like BM Sherwood Tan and do it up with blue towels. I am wondering if the paint color will flow.

Do tell me about your bathroom paint color if the bedroom is blue. Thanks!

Our bedroom is SW Hinting Blue (a gray blue) and we did SW Sea Salt in the bathroom which is a very light gray with blue and green tints in it. I did bring in a touch of brown through accessories but our towels are white. Haven't gotten the drapes up yet in the bedroom either, but I'm leaning towards a dark brown as well.

In regards to the colors your entertaining, I think they'd flow just fine.

My bedroom is BM Wedgewood Gray, and master bathroom is BM Manchester Tan. I'm happy with w/ the blue and tan combination. Good luck with your decision.

I really like the idea of using colors that are adjacent on a strip for MBR and Bath. I've got samples hanging on the walls right now of BM Palladian Blue in the Bedroom and BM Wythe Blue in the Bath, and I'm about 90% certain that those colors will be the ones. Also looking at the SW Strip that has 6211 Rainwashed and 6212 Quietude-those look very close to the Palladian and Wythe but they seem to me a bit less intense.

yes. definitely green for the bedroom; white trim; brown/natural accents. Probably a bright/medium yellow toned spring, lime, to acid green--a happy, lively color. Looking around my home, I have many accessories in this color range, as well as being prominent color outside. Definitely not a greyed, pastel, sage, or forest green. @ Tibbrix; I think you're right about that color, I looked at it again. The next deeper on the color chart works better. Will be looking for more natural and wood accents, and possibly a medium brown for the smaller bedrooms.

Nothing wrong with mixing up colors. The colors should coordinate a bit so they flow from one room to another. My master suite is three rooms in an "L" shape, the sitting room is in the middle. All three rooms are open to one another with doorless archways, so they do flow visually. The center room, the sitting room, has deep red/burgundy walls and a cream/ivory trim color. Off one side of the sitting room is the bathroom. The the trim and cabinets are the same cream/ivory as the sitting room, but the wall are somewhat beige. Off to the other side of the sitting room is our bedroom. In there the walls are sort of a cream/ivory, and the trim/cabinets/wainscot is a deep muted historical green. The cream/ivory sort of ties the three rooms together and the other colors sort of bounce off that. For bathrooms which can be dominated by hard surfaces (fixtures/tile/stained wood) where the color of those items can be difficult or expensive to change, I usually recommend that those hard surfaces be a neutral or somewhat muted color. Then the wall color, or soft accent items like towels and throw rugs, curtains, etc, which are easy to change, be the stronger and sometimes more vibrant accent color. The hard surface colors in our bathroom are sort of neutral (cream cabinets and trim, beige walls, natural teak for the countertops and tub deck, tile is cream and charcoal), we change the color of the towels/rugs whenever we feel like it. Sometimes to a strong color; deep green, cranberry red, etc, sometimes to a soft neutral like beige, off-white, etc. And there is nothing wrong experimenting with colors either, especially paint. At roughly 10 cents a square foot coverage for basic formulations, paint color can be inexpensive and fairly easy to change.

When you have a room with doors and windows like yours, it does make arranging furniture difficult. Most people are not using dressers anymore. Walk in closets with organizers help eliminate bigger furniture. Is your closet of a good size? You might be able to eliminate a dresser? I would put a small bench at the foot of the bed, not chairs. Chairs would be too large. Reduce the amount of furniture in the room and you will enjoy it more. Might be time to go through everything and make sure you get rid of those things you haven't used in a couple of years, donate them or pitch out! You might be amazed. Good luck. Before you do much else, go through that exercise, get the furniture in the best arrangement possible and then think about colors, walls, etc.

Hi c8k6k. Thanks for your response. Those colors sound lovely :) What have you done in terms of accessorizing to pull the two rooms together? I am thinking of blue towels, but not sure if that is going to be enough.

Do you have any pics, btw?

This guest room is painted BM Woodlawn Blue with taupe quilt and shams and white sheets and white drapes. (Photo was taken prior to drapes.) The adjoining bath is painted taupe with blue and taupe tiles. Towels are white. Our guests love it.

We did two different blues for the guest bathroom and the nearby bedroom. They are both grey blues so I like how they relate. We also used the same sconces in both rooms.

Our master bedroom is painted in RH Silver Sage -- and the bathroom is simple white with deep sage towels. Easy -- and easy to change the accessories too! LOL!

I want to be a guest at redroze's house!

Our bedroom is a gray blue (F&B Blue Gray... I think?) and the bath is BM Revere Pewter. I have a blue and gray striped shower curtain and window curtain to pull the blues and grays together.

Our DD's old room is a Laura Ashley light blue, can't remember the exact color. The duvet, window treatments, etc are black & cream. Getting ready to paint the adjoining bathroom a creamy color. I already have purchased black, white towels for the bathroom w/ light blue shower curtain.

our bedroom is van deusen blue. bathroom is windham cream (which is more like a light yellow.) i think they flow nicely but that's just my opinion!

My colors are very similar to sueb20's colors. Our bedroom is Farrow and Ball Borrowed Light and our bathroom is BM Revere Pewter. I am very fond of both colors and think they look quite nice.
