How to hang plantation blinds in a vinyl window

Hi-I have a large vinyl (replacement) picture window in which I want to hang plantation blinds. Because of the design of the trim around the frame, it looks like my best bet is to attach the blinds to the vinyl itself (in this window there is a substantial area of vinyl trim that extends away from the window and meets the wooden trim). Has anyone done this? I am wondering how well the screws will hold in the vinyl, if there is anything special I need to do to help it hold, and if there might be any other problems with doing it this way. To attach to the wood would involve cutting away segments of trim and also getting a custom size (a stock 66" blind will fit the way I'm planning). In the picture, only the outermost quarteround of trim is wood--the rest is vinyl.
