We got the tree up over the weekend. This is early for us. I convinced my DH and I think he agrees that is the way to go!
Not done with shopping. I usually meet my older DD is the city and she picks out some of her own gifts, but tonight the weather is horrible so we moved it to Sunday. I hope to be finished by then.
I wrote our Christmas cards over the Thanksgiving weekend and will mail them this week.

Cards are out, live tree in place, house is completely decorated, outside lights up.

Now there is time for the fun stuff... baking, hosting brunch and dinners, having guests, shopping and especially wrapping!

Outside decorations up, Christmas shopping is finished and wrapped, cards ready to go in the mail tomorrow. Tree gets put up next week. As LuAnn sayd...Let the fun begin! Getting my hair cut, baking, and what the heck...maybe a little more shopping for a few last minute things. Just in time for a little rest before Santa comes.

I'm mostly done with my gift buying but have done no wrapping. I haven't put up lights yet or bought a tree! Hope to do that within the next few days.

I believe leafy02 was asking about home projects, other than Christmas related projects, that we had set a goal to be finished by the holidays. ;) Is that correct leafy?

The only project that I had on my mind (before guest came for Thanksgiving) was to get some inherited furniture, oil paintings, knick knacks, etc. up from the basement and in place in my home. Summer projects were finishing my master bedroom curtains (added extra panels) and sealing screened porch floor, painting screened porch/replacing screened door. I am proud to say that it was all done! :)

I'd be happy to share photos, as I am excited about the new additions.

No tree, not one scrap of Christmas decoration, no Christmas baking, nada. DH had his hip replaced a week & a half ago, and helping him has taken up my time & energy. But DS comes home from school today, and the house will be filled with his buddies, so I will have them get a tree & they can do the baking & decorating. Now that will be interesting!

Well, if that's the case...
The 'refreshing' of the kitchen is done (lights, some cabinets and countertops);
The mattress set & custom headboard came in for my daughter's old room last week, so that's done;
The double dresser for my son's old room is being delivered tomorrow.

So we are good to go... with four house guests expected for the holidays. (possibly a fifth, but that one is still up in the air!)

Regular decorating related, the back of my LR is a MESS. That's what I get though for having a "game" table there which I use this time of the year quite a bit. Thankfully we won't be having Christmas here.

Lots of baking to do Christmas week.

The house is decorated inside and out. Cards are ready to be mailed, all gifts have been bought except for 2 small one's, and I'm almost finished with wrapping them.

Once the wrapping is done I think I can tackle the LR.

Oh, and if my cat would stay OFF the wrapped presents, stop taking little ornaments from the DR table tree and batting them around the house, then I'll be good to go.

Thank goodness for shatter proof ornaments!

My "deadlines" have coincided with any time that I have off work during the holiday season (which isn't much, since I've already used up my vacation days - but I do have a couple of holidays from work coming up), and I've been trying to get as much painted inside the house as possible during those times, as well as on weekends. I've finished my living room, dining room, and hallway - and will probably start in on one of the bedrooms this coming weekend. My deadlines don't have anything to do with getting ready for company (we aren't having any), or anything like that - just sort of a self-imposed schedule that I'm trying to adhere to, so I'll feel like I've accomplished something. :-)

You ladies who have so much Christmas stuff done are impressive! I noticed forlornly that there were no Christmas cards in my mailbox yet, but then I had to reflect upon the fact that I haven't sent any out yet, either :(

Newhomebuilder, yes. I did originally mean more of the home-improvement and decor projects and (as always) would love to see photos of yours or anyone else's.

I really do get energized by seeing that other people are getting stuff done :) And on the flip side, if people haven't gotten done everything they hoped, it makes me feel like I'm not alone in having not finished!

Well, my biggest pre-Christmas project is done! We replaced all 3 of the toilets in our home. Not very exciting, but they're in and I'm so happy about that. The decorations have been up since the week after Thanksgiving. Most of my gifts are bought but not wrapped. BUT all of DS's gifts have been sent off to him in Afghanistan, so that's another project I can check off my way-too-long list! About 90% of my Christmas cards are in the mail. I'd love to get the powder room painted but I'm now doubting it will get done. I haven't started my holiday baking and hope to do that this weekend. I was going to make (12 dozen) luminarias, but it's not a job to do when it's cold outside . . . and it's been below freezing with snow for the past 6 days now! I'll probably end up buying some already made or skip them this year.

You ladies are ambitious! I never plan for projects in December. If the decorations are up and the presents bought--relax and enjoy the season!

I did get the DR drapes finished, and they actually got pretty good reviews from our Thanksgiving crowd. That green chair fabric...not so much. Although one nice lady commented that it looked so interesting and different, just like something you'd see in a magazine. I have the new chair fabric, but haven't redone the seats, yet. Next week looks like it's going to be a good time for some small projects, though.

We replaced the ceiling light in the living room, which sparked a snowball effect of mini projects and a makeover, all of which got top priority for the holidays. That living room looked 100% better this year, and we got lots of compliments.

I have a handful of other projects that were originally on the list to be done before the holidays, but I've declared them "winter projects" so check back with me in March! LOL!
