Hi all, I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. We just moved into a new home and our walls are white..,,at least I thought they were white. I now realize that Pearl, a custom SW color is more of an off white....this is on the walls, doors, ceilings and baseboards. It actually looks ok as we have medium wood floors throughout but I did white tile in the bathrooms and now I'm really seeing how NOT white the paint is. My challenge is trying to figure out what colors to paint several walls. I want to go with a gray color but did a test spot and the gray next to this off white makes the moldings look dingy and almost yellowy. I don't know whether I should paint the moldings a white white (but then would need to do the doors, trim AND the ceiling?) or find a better gray that makes the off white look whiter! Is it odd to have different baseboard colors in different rooms? Is also starting to bother me as I realize my bedding is white white and near these walls you can really see the difference. I really don't want to have the whole house painted over in a whiter white....what paint will look ok with these off white moldings?

Strikes me as too many colors - better to rethink even the door trim or do everything darker, plus putting in just one element of 'an older style' may be lost in the overall design if it doesn't naturally flow or make sense in the space. But please remember I can't see your kitchen and I'm only guessing at what you're referring to and its/their relation to other things nearby.

I think continuing with the Dove White is the way to go unless you want to repaint all the doors, trim and moldings another white. Do you have a photo? That always helps.

When you walk in, the shower is a medium size curbless walk in with the same 6"x24" white porcelain tiles in a horizontal stacked bond throughout. There is an accent of Oceanside glass hexagon tiles in "Tide" (a teal color) running vertically down center of long (72") wall. There are 3 shower heads, one on the short wall, a rain head directly over the accent strip, and a handheld on a rail next to the bench at the back short wall (42"). Clear glass frameless shower door. All showerheads controlled by a Grohe controller at entrance. Directly in front if you are standing at door is a linen cupboard, floor to ceiling.(24"x98"). this is the wall we want to tile, it is only 60" from the edge of the cabinet to the corner. in that intersecting wall is the toilet, we wanted the toilet are tiled. Next to the toilet, and to the right as you enter is s 68" floating vanity, flat slab doors. The cabinet is maple, with a smoky-taupey stain. Countertop is Cambria Montgomery. Fixtures are Riobel Zendo. There will be a mirrored medicine cabinet above the single sink, Kohler Verticyl lav sink. We want to tile this vanity/toilet wall with the white large subway tiles and a horizontal accent on the Oceanside tile at about 52". The floor is "White Hot" by...now the mfg. has slipped my mind. 12x24" tile.
