Keep or remove kitchen/dining dividing wall? HELP!!!

Hi all!

We are in the final planning stages of our new kitchen. One huge question for us is whether to unite the kitchen and dining room space. We have a galley kitchen situated between the dining and daughters play room.

We considered putting the cooktop on the other peninsula, but decided against it since our little girl will be playing on that side and doing homework and such on the counter top.

More over, my wife doesn't care for the step up look either.

SO, keep the wall or take it out?? Your feedback is much appreciated!!

Attached are a couple pics:

1. wall intact

2. no wall
