What type of knobs/handles are in your kitchen?
Comments (7)I did knobs on all caramel colored doors. Cup pulls on all top drawers regardless of width. 3 different size pulls on all other drawers depending on width. Black hardware on caramel colored cabinets, Antique brass on white cabinets to match reused exposed hinges. I did pulls on solid white painted cabinets doors. Knobs on glass white painted cabinet doors. Different groups of knobs and pulls for each color cabinets. Oh, and black Manhandles for the pantry doors. Didn't use anything on faux fronts. Did make up the rules as I went along and love the results....See MoreKnobs or Handles on Shaker Cabinets? Paint color?
Comments (23)The clothes catching is a real issue as the knobs on my stove do that to me all the time (but we love the stove regardless, lol). I listen to audiobooks while I cook, and the cord to the earpiece catches on the stove knobs and never the pulls on the cabs. It happens in our bathroom as well where there are knobs. I thread the cord to the earpieces under my shirt, so that has cut down a little on the catching problem, but it still happens, and clothes catch on it too. Since our kitchen knobs are only above shoulder height, in that case, it is the look that I think I'd prefer. I may someday convert them into pulls. To my eye, the pulls look neater and sleeker and the knobs look choppy. It is not a big issue as, lord knows, we have much bigger fish to fry in order to complete our kitchen/house, but it is one of the few choices (other than gc! and floor material) that I'd do differently knowing what I know now. YMMV...See MoreWhat type of handle for pantry pullout and trash pullout
Comments (5)I used the same pulls that I have on my similar cabinets, which means a different one on the pantry pullout since it is one finish and the trash pullout is on the island in a different finish and with different hardware. The pantry pullout is horizontal on one side of the fridge and the pantry with rollout and broom closet on the other side of the fridge have the same handle installed vertically, The cabinets stacked on top have knobs because they don't all open the same as the ones below them and it looked better to make them different. I do have cup pulls too -- the same finish as the pantry pullouts, but they are my horizontal on the white cabinets (pantry are blue and island is cherry with black pulls). I didn't mix the cup pulls and handles on the white since I wanted the handle pulls to go on the blue cabinets. So I have all cup pulls but have seen plently of mixed cup pulls and bar handles. My suggestion is to buy plenty and check them before the holes are drilled, then mix or rework a few if you need to -- like my pantry....See MoreAlmost finished - quartersawn oak and Delicatus kitchen
Comments (25)The cabinet interiors are light (birch?) except for the glass uppers. Those are stained the same color as the exterior. It's much easier to see stuff in a light interior than a dark one - the plywood and particle board interiors in the old kitchen were really dark brown with age and stuff disappeared into the darkness. I really prefer the light interiors :). Our cabinets are frameless, but the edge fronts are stained the same as the cabinets. You don't see any of the lighter color until you actually open up the door/drawers....See MoreRelated Professionals
