Anyone have experience with the Pottery barn icebox latch?

Hi again,

I am continuing in my search for cabinet hardware. I have been looking around for a latch that is easy to open and sturdy. I became interested in the icebox latch because you do not need to twist to unlock. I have found the Cliffside industries latch ( @$45 each) which is beautiful but also found a pottery barn icebox latch that is $29 (presently on sale for $22). Has anyone purchased and installed one yet? It looks nice but I know that need to be of good quality or you will hate them.

Appreciate any feedback!

Two things
1. I searched old threads and found mention of a site that sells cliffside latches wholesale for $29. That is a huge savings

2. I ordered one pottery barn icebox latch. If we do not get any feedback from GW users I can post a review once I receive the latch.

I know - I have loved a few PB rugs online, and when I have gone to the local store to check them out - wow! What a difference! I saw that the other pics looked very different from the first one in her auctions, and just know they are of the real rug. If you wrote her that you are interested in one, maybe she'd take a photo of her smallest one in daylight, so you can really tell what you're buying. My experience is that the catalog and their online photos are usually richer/deeper than the true colors.

I have the 6' round under my kitchen table and I really like it. It has held up fine to the chairs - the cats are a different story. They have decided one spot is perfect for scratching. Even so, I still like it. I found it as a PB outlet so if you have one near you I'd try it first. If the cat damage gets too bad, I'll probably replace it with another one.

UPDATE: I did order the bed. It's a beautiful bed. Very solid and well made. We put a 10,5 inch mattress on top of it and it sits up very high. A rug pad keeps it from sliding. Yes, it is very heavy and you cannot easily move it to get to the baskets against the wall. I guess Christmas items will go there. It would even make a nice place to hide things as well. I would say that is the biggest drawback to the bad, we love it otherwise. I wondered if I could get the hinges that attaches the three sections together if one should break. Not good that PB doesn't supply parts.

Pottery Barn Indio Outdoor Dining Patio Furniture anyone?

We have had a partial order of our Indio Metal Dining set and Lounge chairs delivered. (the rest is on backorder) While everything looks nice one of the Chaise lounge chairs and a couple of the dining chairs their legs do not all lign up and so there is a slight wobble to the chair. Both Chaise lounge chairs (not kept under the patio) have been rained on, while they look fine they are retaining water inside the aluminum construction of the chair. While i know aluminum does not rust, however aluminum can corrode over time. I am wondering if this is going to compromise the longevity of the chair? Again everything looks great, the quality of the product leaves us second guessing the purchase decision. Coming from a major designer/retailer like Pottery Barn this is a really big disservice to the customer confidence. i am looking forward to seeing how Pottery Barn addresses the situation. and here are a couple boring videos i took of the chair leaking water, the chairs are on their side and about 2 days after the last rain event. And yes the videos are like watching paint dry.. looks nice

Hello! WOW, I searched high and low last week for someone to answer the same question for me and I ended up doing what you did and ordered some. I rec'd the PB ice box latches and they are great! Heavy, solid and very nice....BUT they are HUGE! I didn't think about measurements and they will not fit on my cabinet edge/stile for lack of a better term. I am devastated! So I have ordered cliffsides from AHTURF.com bc they are super cheap on there and they are smaller. I am sure cliffsides are the best but it is costing lots more!
Please post when you get your kitchen done. I will do same! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Oh, I have a question for you? What finish are you doing? I went with SN on my fixtures since I have SS appliances & faucet. However, CLiffside only offers a Silver Satin color. Do you know if that is their version of Stainless Steel or SN? I cannot figure this out and it's making me crazy!!!!! If you know, please help me!
