joyce11 I suggest you consider this project carefully, as there are many potential issues. These include humidity levels in the summer, condensate on windows due to excessive humidity in the winter, calcium deposits due to the evaporation and plumbing maintanence issues (pumps,valves piping). That being said be sure to utilize a professional for the design and construction. Special attention should be taken to supporting the weight of a six foot unit and water content, appropiate accessability to the critical mechanical elements for maintanence, proper electrical circuits for safety (ground fault, protected cables, etc.) the ability to easily drain/empty the fountain for cleaning/maintanence, appropriate chemical additives for biological control, etc. All in all not a simple project and one that should not be undertaken without carefull planning and expert advice. We have had the Pergo XP (Extreme Performance) installed in our house for a few years now, and if I had to do it again, I would have used something else. In my opinion, the XP stands for Extremely Poor. The floor wasn't even installed a week, when a plastic cooler was slid across the floor when filling it to go on a trip, and it scratched the floor in multiple spots. Fixed it with their repair pen, but still quite noticeable. Pergo's website claims: "Designed to withstand scratches, scuffs and pet accidents." We also have pets and had a tinkle accident that we did not see until morning. The flooring had soaked it up and swelled and buckled, etc. We were able to fix with lots of paper towel and a stack of books to weigh it down, but still. We live in Montana, so a flooring product that more or less can't get wet seems a little useless. After all, we live where is snows, rains, etc. Additionally, just 2 days ago I dropped a pair of pliers which chipped a chunk out of the floor. Really???? DANG!!!! That was the last straw. What good is a flooring product that cannot get wet, drop things on, slide things across, etc. Hey Pergo - Life Happens. Next time I plan on putting flooring down in a "controlled environment bubble".... it still wouldn't be Pergo. If you plan on wanting to live on and use the place you plan to put this product, I would have to suggest finding something else to use. This is the most "hands on" maintenance flooring I have ever had. Next project is probably going to be rip this s%@$ out and go with something a little more "life friendly"

I know - I have loved a few PB rugs online, and when I have gone to the local store to check them out - wow! What a difference! I saw that the other pics looked very different from the first one in her auctions, and just know they are of the real rug. If you wrote her that you are interested in one, maybe she'd take a photo of her smallest one in daylight, so you can really tell what you're buying. My experience is that the catalog and their online photos are usually richer/deeper than the true colors.

I have four different wool tufted rugs...one from overstock and three from homedecorators.com. The two from homedecorators both happen to be Safavieh, the one from overstock a non-brand from India. The one from overstock sheds like crazy! It's finally slowed down after a couple of years. The other three barely shed at all. They are wonderful rugs and are actually in a much higher traffic area than the shedding one. Two are in the front hall at the front door, which is the main entrance to our home and the other one is in the very next adjoining "front parlor" that you have to walk through to get to the rest of the house. I love, love these rugs. The other one is in our girls' bedroom. They are only in there to sleep, so it gets minimal daily use...no toys in there. So I'm not sure if it's the luck of the draw, or Safavieh. I know the brand is a good one, but I had just assumed that this was a lower line of theirs that wouldn't be as high quality as their regular rugs. However, I didn't know they were Safavieh when I bought them...nowhere did it mention the brand on homedecorators for some reason. I have two hooked wool rugs from jcpenney...they have not worn as well, but they are holding up. Things (vacuums, dog nails, etc.) have gotten snagged in the loops. Wool rugs are easy to clean, because the dirt tends to lift up to the top. The Safavieh ones still look great 3 years later, with 2 kids and 2 dogs.
