Laying out a tile backsplash?

So the granite is in:) now onto the backsplash.

We are using a 3x6 travertine tile in a running bond

pattern. We also want a strip of 3x 1" accent

glass tiles around the room. The backsplash area ranges

from 18" to 18 1/4" around the room which is in a U shape.

The center of the outlets is at 9" exactly. We would

like the accent strip to be centered on the outlets

around the room. I am going to use an 1/8" grout

joint with sanded grout. The range area will have a sheet

of stainless steel for the backsplash.

Any resources or suggestions on how to lay it out?

Ideally I'd like to minimize cuts.

How do I handle inside corners? Put a 45 deg angle on the

edge of each tile? How about glass tile?

Where do you start laying tile out with a U shape

kitchen? The left side has the range in the middle,

the middle has a sink with a window behind it in the middle

and the right side is just a counter.
