How many counter surfaces too many?

I've fallen in love with a pricey blue granite called Blue Mediterranean. I can't afford it for all my counters. What about using it on the island? As you can see by my layout below, I will have a 3'x3' butcher block in the island and a prep sink, and that will be my chief prep area. The L-shaped counter will be a so-called baking center, but I don't do all that much baking! The clean-up area is the main sink area, which is hidden from view from the Great Room by the raised eating bar. Actually, what about the eating bar and the island in granite, all else in something else? I love the look of tile and will have a tile backsplash. I started a thread asking about using Corian for these perimeter counters, but the bulk of responders nixed that idea, basically saying that stone, wood + plastic = not a good look. So I am currently thinking either tile or quartz. What say you?
